I was hoping this would be a good enough upgrade for my redmi 9 but its barely any better at all according to nanoreview anyone got a recommendation? Preferably £250 maximum

Hold fire until the Amazon sale July 11th - Xiaomi, Moto & Oppo all likely to be reduced - you'll get something decent for £200-250
Oppo Reno 7 was £149 recently which is a decent midranger imo
4gb ram seems quite low for this price
Xiaomi seem to have taken a backward step on some of their more recent devices and dropped from 6GB to 4GB which is disappointing. They do have the Memory Extension feature to add extra RAM from internal storage though.
