I believe this is the cheapest a 4060ti has been to date, about £60 (15%) below the RRP. Still not sure it's worth it but might be for some. *grabs popcorn*

Make sure you have a PCIE4 board, they've cheaped out on these as they only run on 8 lanes, you get worse performance on gen3.

    That's a bit ridiculous...

All I'll say is I like the form factor, assuming the thermals are kept in check it should go well in a small form factor case.

Just to stir the behive though, lets be honest, this is or should have been a 4050/Ti with an appropriate price.
    Willy_Wonka's avatar
I don't think it will fit in a SSF case.

looks like a £150 card of a few years ago & prob should be

    £200 too much. lol

Wasn't the 1050TI often sold as a teeny card- and what did that cost? This card is literally in the same performance position by 2023 standards, costs the Earth, and has pitiful amounts of VRAM.

Here's a clue for the clueless. The 6800 (non-XT) costs a little bit more with 16GB of VRAM, and when overclocked, goes toe-to-toe with the 4070 at 1440P (non-RT, of course). It also uses a similar amount of power to the 4070.

Meanwhile this 4060TI stinker can't even beat the 3070. In other words it sits at the SAME TIER as the 3060TI. No tier improvement with a new generation. This is unprecedented.

OK, if you need a teeny card, you don't have a lot of choice at this time, and AMD certainly refuses to help there. And AMD's 7600 is certainly just as awful as a failed new gen product. But prices are dropping daily, so at least by waiting, you'll get a now disappointing GPU for a lot less.

I agree with the sentiment and with Lovelace being a crapshoot, but tbh you're not remotely gonna find a 6800 for this kind of money, certainly one that isn't an AIB model the size of a shed.

    Expensive fan that

Must admit Nvidia are skanking the crap out of us nowadays.

Taking the pea big time, a TI card with 128 bit bus and x8 gen 4 in 2023 and the cache increase is a joke only helps with their DLSS/RT.

Never touch the company again tbh, the cherk of them charging this much for basic consumer line is a joke.

The amount of money they are making from AI is crazy and it shows they are using consumer side funds to pay for that.

yep, really they should've released this at £300 RRP max, and then priced the upcoming 4060 at £200 RRP instead of £100 higher than both those figures.

Whilst Nvidia is be trashed, rightly, by every consumer, influencer and everyone in between, not a single person talks about how it has also just become one of the most valuable companies in the world.

Are they "doing the right business" things? Like for companies who are so anti-consumer to be rewarded with such valuation makes me think, everything is upside down wrong way round and inside out lol.
    Wooj's avatar
Being anti-consumer has worked very well for other successful companies such as Apple: virtually non-repairable, proprietary parts and ports, removal of headphone jack, no expandable storage etc. It's a shame that some companies go down this route

Despite all the recent controversy at £340 this is a reasonable buy.
    Gkains's avatar
    Don't know.

About the price a 3060 Ti would have settled on if it hadn't been for the shortages.

Thing is in 2020/2021 a 8GB 3060 Ti was a gamble: will it last a few years before all games no longer target previous-gen console?

In 2023 if the same question is asked of the 8GB 4060 Ti then: not a chance - nothing is developed with the previous console generation anymore and PS5/XBX can use ~12GB for VRAM. (edited)

Just bought one for my velka 3, was going to post it as well, good deal

I have the MSI 3060 ti ITX in my velka 3. I’m surprised how they engineered a 200w TDP GPU into a single fan cooler.

I’ll however wait for a similar TDP in an ITX card to show up in the market before upgrading. Hopefully this time they will put a USB-C into these ITX GPU as a single USB-C would be an incredible clean and semi-portable setup with those portable monitors.

Mildly tempted for little video editing ITX build I'm planning on but I'll see what the market is like next few months.

More importantly need a good ITX deal on a motherboard
    MaxJenson's avatar
I can vouch for the Gigabyte A520i AM4 (if you're happy not moving past 50 series Ryzen). Fantastic board, with great VRM thermals. It's pretty no thrills, but it looks rather sleek, and it has the essentials. Certainly with what I want from a motherboard, anyway. £100 on Amazon, but for ITX, that's to be expected. You can do far worse, for a lot more money. I spent more on the SFX power supply that was a tough pill to swallow. (edited)

    This is hilarious

Without the usual price hikes with every new generation, these are already below its RRP. 3060Ti like performance + DLSS3 + FG + AV1 encoder. Not bad
