Anyone know how this would compare to the similar priced Hisense 43E77HQTUK? (edited)

A quick search of the specs shows, they are both va panels, 50/60hz refresh and are both Direct LED back lit, with no local dimming. The only real difference is the Hisense is a better 10 bit+frc quantum dot panel as opposed to just a standard 8 bit LCD on the LG.

However the LG Web os is supposed to be one of the best smart tv user interfaces. Don't know about Hisense's vida os. Neither are any good for next gen gaming if that's a requirement. Both will be fine for general tv watching, like almost any tv.

Most of LG's LCD Tv range is very average to mediocre, compared to their Oled's or to other manufacturers like Hisense, Samsung, Sony, TCL, as their all in on OLED (being as they make and supply everyone else). Their Nanocell and Qned's are slightly better, but still only edge or direct led lit. I believe only the qned86 is full array mini led, but around £900 ish. But then your in around Hisense U8h, TCL c series 735 / 835, Samsung qled and neo qled territory.

Once you drop below all the flagship models its very difficult to pick what to get. You have to choose, between a basic lcd or one with Quantum dot colour tech (marketed as qled, uled, qned, Triluminos etc). Then the back lighting tech, basic led edge lit (older tech), direct led lcd (but no local dimming) or full array led or mini led with local dimming.

All down to your requirements and wallet really. Read lots and lots of reviews and videos, then see them in person if possible. (edited)

All the reviews say the TCL 43RP630K which has a QLED Panel and Roku for £279 at Currys is the one to go for I was looking at the Hisense 43E77 until Which said it was the worst TV they’d seen (edited)

Any idea why itvx on some TVs such as that TCL lack live TV?
Bit of a killer for me as a 2nd TV there will be no aerial.

Or perhaps it's a mercy killing...... (edited)

Would make a fine bedroom TV or small room.

I don't think it would make a fine small room at all! No walls or ceiling and I could not fit my bed in the bezel. Where do I store my underpants as no usable cupboard space. You sir/madam are wrong!

Good price, I've had this one since black Friday. Nice OS, you can connect a BT controller and use it for game pass (xbox.com/play) or GFN through an app. Turn off all the energy saving the defaults are to get a good score on the consumption, much better after doing that
