Can we cancel after 6 months? Since they are cancelling for petty reasons.

Yes you can. But need to remove payment card. As if you slide "auto renew" switch to off , it will magically be on after you log in again. I am always using Revolut for such companies and keep there just few quid so they can't take more money if they wished to.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I've been with Plusnet for years, not switching operator and just changing the contract with Plusnet periodically for better deals etc. How do you time it so that you aren't paying 2 sim only plans at the same time with different operators (or at least limit the overlap). I've heard of people ordering sims and them not turning up for weeks. Do you sign up to a new sim only and then it is only activated when you put the sim in and port your number across etc. or do you start paying from when you sign up. Sorry not really had to do this for years!

The contract will start on the day of signing up even if it's like 23:59 on that day. So I usually sign up just after midnight in hope that there won't be a wasted day that my application just sits there and not getting posted. In my experience, shipping could be as soon as next day or as late as 3 days later. I would have prepared a free SIM already before applying for a new SIM, when the new SIM arrived, I'll port the number of the old contract you want to get rid of to the free SIM. Usually, that will take up to 24 hours and the old SIM will terminate. You won't pay anything beyond this day and our provider should refund any days after this that you have paid in your previous bill pro rata back into your account. So in essence, you'll only be paying for 2 Sims for that one day whilst the number is being ported over.

I'm not sure if anyone has a better way to do it? I hope this helps.

Watch out for scam on EU roaming is very low about 2gb.

3GB for roaming on this plan. Very low. Better off with Lebara - 12GB - £1.99 for 6 months and all yours when roaming too. (edited)

Lyca, urrm, from my dealings with them, very devious. 1p for 3 months deal, first month OK, second month mysteriously my 1p payment was declined by bank ( even though it was paypal). So with no data, couldnt recieve calls, make calls ( even to free 322 customer service) and chat function is almost criminally rubbish. Eventually had to make a top up and ring customer service and demand top up money back. Apparently the declined payment trick is one of their tactics to make you buy a bundle.

Bad experience and feels amateur - really hard to get hold of customer service to get my PAC code - the text service wouldn't work, said to call them, after finally managing that they said to email and I never got a reply. In the end the text service worked and left ASAP. Plus all their emails look dodgy.

Not to mention data settings didn't auto update on iPhone, and after finding some on their site I still couldn't get them to work, this was the start of trying to get hold of their CS.

Back to Lebara - no issues with them.

What's the deal with using this abroad??

Will I be able to use access all my data for free even if I'm in Germany for 6 months at a time?? I will obviously activate in UK

Unlikely, even under EU roaming rules you weren't allowed to use abroad for 6 months. IIRC the most generous was 2 months.

    Here is what Lyca say:

Our roaming services are intended for Lycamobile customers who visit EU Countries for short periods, for example a holiday or short trip. Our roaming Fair Usage Policy is designed to prevent misuse of our EU Countries roaming products and service.
