Popped back to thank you OP, managed to grab the Arcane recently from JL Oxford Street.

Thought I’d missed out as they had one in stock but they couldn’t find it when I first went. Checked the App again a couple of weeks later and saw they were showing one again, so took a chance and they had a grey one in stock. New stock arrived apparently, so worth having a check again of stock in your local.

Really well made, comfortable and looks good. Mainly use it for the daily shop (live in town) and roll top is great for that (first roll top for me). The strap extends, so when I have a big shop I don’t roll it and just loop the strap over. Giving me much more storage. But the rest of the time I can roll it down, so it just looks like a normal sized day backpack. And I don’t look like some sort of backpacking tourist. Also, not clear from the pics but there’s a discrete side water bottle pocket.

If your usage case is similar to mine I’d consider a roll top. I hadn’t before but now im glad I went with it. (edited)

Good deal, won't be going for it personally as roll top with no compartments means a nightmare for organising stuff.

Yep, but generally speaking they are lighter (less compartments - less fabric) and tougher (no zips - less breaking points)

    It’s a personal choice

Nice deal OP, went for the Fjalraven High coast 26. Been eyeing it for a while and the cheapest I could find it for was £80 so had to snap it up at £50. Cheers

Where did you find Highcoast 26 at £50?

The JLP one is the 24. Or am i missing something?

Nice deal but not being waterproof puts me off personally.

Seems a lot, but I appreciate its branded. I'm using a £10 Decathalon one - is it worth the upgrade?

Osprey stuff is well built. I've dragged my Farpoint around the world for ~6 years and the stitching and zippers are just as good as the first day I got it. Can't say the same for any other bags I've used that much. But if you don't see your bags dealing with that much abuse, not really worth the extra cash. (edited)
