That's gotta be a mis-price, that's how much Morrisons charge for their bone-in thighs.

Slightly offtopic but I'm kind of sad how expensive chicken thighs have got. They were always a great budget option to buy compared to how expensive chicken breast is. If you deboned the thighs you'd end up with about 750g of chicken meat for about £1.70.

Completely agree. It's happened with virtually all cheaper cuts of meat over recent years. I can remember when beef brisket used to be dirt cheap, then when people cottoned on it ended up being about the same price as topside. Same for chicken thighs now. I was.in Sainsbury's the other day and it was somehow more expensive than breast. Madness.

To make it more affordable I now buy skin on, bone in 2kg. Net weight ends up being about 1.1 kg. It takes more time and work on my part but it makes them about half the price of equivalent thigh fillets prepared by Asda. No doubt when everyone does this in a few years time it won't be much cheaper to buy skin on, bone in. (edited)

Morrisons isn’t mentioned so it’s fine
  5. morgat04's avatar
Loads in Bedford available, 1p more expensive than boned

Got a pack yesterday, hubby went back in this morning, back up to full price
  7. futura's avatar
Full price in store, not even sure you can order online as it asks you to log into your account first and when you do, this product disappears completely
    boomtingz's avatar
None available in your local that's why. Happens to me all the time. Very annoying.

Went to buy these at the weekend at Morrisons and they were selling a load off for £1.40 due to dates. Bought a few of them to freeze
  9. crumpetman's avatar
Shame the skin is the best bit! Nowhere seems to do skin on and boneless.

We get 1kg skin on from Ocado and lose no more than 200g in bones when preparing.
    DoofTrooper's avatar
Your local butcher will happily debone the thighs whilst keeping the skin
  10. CosmicTurkey's avatar
They were marked and scanned at 6 in my local this morning

£15 for 5kg chicken.... this is super hot!!

    This guy maths.
  12. neversay's avatar
If the price gets much lower, the chickens will need to get jobs and pay you to eat them.
  13. ayeworld's avatar
Pity I don't like chicken thigh meat.

Great deal - love chicken thighs...so much tastier than breast, and when they're like this it's not a massive effort to trim off the extra fat etc
    ayeworld's avatar
Debatable, personally I find them awful in comparison to breast. Tastes cheap. Each to their own though. (edited)

I'm logged in and the product appears for me, might add one to my order that's being delivered tomorrow. Think it must be a pricing error as the smaller 600g pack is £4.49, anyway well spotted OP.

Was only looking at prices to check as planning to do a 4kg Kellybab next month on the grill for a family BBQ, tempted to order but would need to freeze them and thighs are always better fresh than defrosted in my experience
  17. rapid85's avatar
Wow, that would be a good price for 500g, never mind a kilo.
  18. scrounger's avatar
Much prefer breast to be frank... Still decent mind you...

Could we have a quick show of hands .. thigh v breast.. 🏽 (edited)
