Nice, cheap break. Works out about £3 a person a night. Silver apartments are £62 if you'd prefer that.

Located in the serene seaside town of Minehead, our resort is nestled in the beautiful hilly moors of Exmoor in Somerset, neighbouring a gorgeous golden sandy beach.

As the largest of our three resorts, Minehead is the ideal location for families wanting to embrace everything that's brilliant about the Great British seaside (including the unpredictable weather!) with acres of resort to roam and nearly one mile of beach on our doorstep.

Home to our iconic chalets and seafront apartments, you'll find everything you need to make your break special at Minehead. There are delicious restaurants, a vintage fairground, the Skyline Pavilion where you'll find our entertainment, plus a charming Chapel in our grounds, too!

If you fancy doing a little exploring outside of our resort, Minehead has so much to offer. In proximity to Exmoor National Park, you'll find nature trails and walking paths with lovely views. Dunster Castle is nearby, with the West Somerset Railway open for a nostalgic trip on the steam train.

For a place to stay at the end of the day, these great-value rooms are ideal for those wanting a base with a simple interior, complete with beds and a bath.

    Honest review of Butlins here.

I would describe us as a 'normal' UK family. We own our house with a mortgage. We don't have a criminal record. We enjoy caravan holidays. We shop at Tesco. We drive a 10 year old car. I have a Casio watch. We don't drink to excess or smoke.

We went last year and had a similar deal.

    We stayed ona comfort apartment.

The quality of the apartment was OK. It was very basic but overall quite clean.

There was loads to do for the kids.

The problem is that Butlins does attract a minority, but a loud and noticeable minority, clientele who are complete knuckle dragging chavs.

They walk around with grey tracksuits hanging off their arse, greasy hair puffing cigarettes screaming and shouting at all hours.

Spoils it for normal families really who just want a cheap break. (edited)

That's life in general the minority spoil things for the majority. Butlin's is a great place for kids as i visited quite a few different sites when i was growing up. Now they just have 3 left skeggy, minehead and bognor. Never been to the bognor site. But Rockaway beach in January is one adult music weekend I'm hoping to get to. Just need a decent line up but next year's doesn't appeal to me.

Can't believe some of the responses. We had a great time my kids loved it. So family friendly.

A lot to do in terms of facilities, entertainment the rooms are very basic but Minehead is lovely and has some great tea rooms and pubs/restaurants.

We went for a week last year and would go back.

Just back yesterday. The worst theme park not only in UK, but Europe. We paid for 3 nights and left after day 1.

Theme park? Did you post on the wrong thread?

I was going to reply and point out all the holes in the negative comments, but instead I’ll just say as a family that holiday at Walt Disney World and Disneyland California each year, we’ve never had any issues with “the sort of people” at Butlins in Skegness. It’s mostly families and barring the very rare exception, everyone’s polite, we’ll mannered and clean up after themselves. The staff are always brilliant and most of the resort is very well kept. Our kids always enjoy our Butlins holidays and I think they’re very good value, even when you’re paying much more that this deal.

My family has always liked Butlins.. Im going Butlins Minehead in the school summer holidays and Florida in October
On the rare occasion over the years of visiting Butlins we have had problems yet we've been to customer services and had issues sorted or they'd sort out another chalet or refunds, but the majority of the time our visits have been fine.

Just booked a suite in the on site hotel for the week after for £50.35. That price for in the hotel is insane. Great find 🏻 (edited)

Got a link for Bognor Regis at this price too?

Term time pricing - wish my kids were young enough for us to enjoy these prices. Goes to over £300 once you hit the school holidays

I've done nearly 40 adult weekends at Skeggy and a couple at Minehead. And the odd family break you can't go wrong at all at these prices. Some would say it's cheaper than staying at home, as your using their gas/electric. Just take your own beer as the bar prices are eye watering for this yorkshireman.

And Skegness certainly isn't serene! It's murder central!!!

Good find. I took the kids to Minehead in the Easter holidays and we had a great time. We had a great deal I paid 136 for the room for monday to friday and then i paid 240 (ish) for the food court that is optional but very convenient. i did see alot of people take their air fryers to cook in the rooms . all the shows are included in the price i paid for the week (136).

all it takes is a little bit of planning. generally did this the night before. but a big note that you need to book your places for the shows way in advance but you can cancel them at any time.

it was very rare i had to touch any money though the week. but i was taking my own drinks into the night life (obviously hidden away).

The downside was the queues for the shows. just because you have booked your place does not mean you will get a seat when you get in. the one studio (studio 36 i think) was huge so you do get a seat but it wont be close to the stage.

personally i would go again with the kids and i would do the food court again. the food is fine. the coffee sucks. the juice is ok. the cakes where amazing.
    Mooney70's avatar
Studio 36 is the newest venue at Skegness. Which like you say is absolutely massive and could fit everyone inside. It's not fully soundproofed yet. So they don't use it late at night. But once that happens then it will be used a lot more.

Stayed in a silver room last April, room was a dump, whole place needs a lot of work doing to it. Minehead is a nice little town, shame butlins isn’t the same standard
