Beware, these don't work with Xiaomi 12 and above. Heat & thank you

My phone is on miui 13 and I could never work out why my Amazon echo auto suddenly stopped working 🥴 (edited)

Any improvement over the old version? Not sure if i should upgrade or not

It is as rubbish as the first generation. Needs some miracle to stay connected and working with my phone.

The original echo auto sucked for me, I use Xiaomi Phones so not sure if that is the issue though.

My V1 echo auto worked great until I got an update on my Xiaomi phone, just wouldn't work after that

Got the V1 version of this when it was down at £19.99 last year on prime day and I only use it for one thing.....so the kids can abuse my Spotify and request tracks at will on the school run!!

V1 can be a bit hit and miss sometimes but works well 90% of the time. I much prefer the physical look of this one though as the V1 attaches to the air vent and is quite bulky....but I don't think I would personally pay more than £19.99 for it.

Overall I was almost put off by the bad reviews of the V1 but all depends on what you use it for

Thanks, been waiting for this to drop.

Is this any better than v1?

Interested in peoples opinions on this as well as don't think the mic for calls is that great on V1.

    What advantage of
    This if I
    Have car play

Think of this as an Amazon Echo device in your car as that is exactly what it is. So if you already use one and understand what it does, this does the same.

So you can say Alexa tell me the weather, or Alexa play Radio 1 or Alexa how long will it take me to get to ..., Alexa what's the Man City score etc etc. Alexa remind me on Wednesday I have a doctor appointment at 4PM etc etc. It's just a voice assistant in the car with all the pros and cons of any voice assistant.

I'm surprised the item doesn't have that many reviews on Amazon. It's like not many people have bought it.

Cheers, hadn't seen this had dropped in price, ordered

Will this stream music from apps, like radio etc? I got a 2013 Audi a4 sline, it’s got Bluetooth for phone calls only, not for music streaming. I used a cheap fm transmitter but it’s annoying and plays up.

We use ours for podcasts and Amazon Music and it works a treat (unless you are on MIUI OS 12 or above)

so will this work through your radio ?not very clear the set up and compatability
    crabby09's avatar
Just think of it as a hands free kit for your phone... So the phone just plays by Bluetooth and this allows you to use voice commands to controls what your phone is playing. If your car doesn't have Bluetooth you can use it to connect to a 3.5mm port and then the audio runs through it via Bluetooth. (edited)

Seen some terrible reviews on this. Dont think I will bother

If you have it set up right with your phone it works brilliantly. The phone is nearly always to blame if you have issues. I have a Samsung phone and it works perfectly 99.9% of the time and I couldn't be without it. (edited)

Is there any point to this cos if it connects to your phone via bluetooth on android. If you have android why not enable voice commands (via the OS) and get a cheap BT transmitter for £16 ?
    crabby09's avatar
You can definitely do that... It's basically the same thing but some people will find this easier to use as it behaves exactly like an echo (same buttons, same notification light colours, same option to mute etc)

I use android auto. My phone does everything this can do. Pointless for many I reckon unless you still rocking a 3310

    Heat given.
I’ve bought one to give it a try.
Can’t be as bad as the original…?
Well, if it is, it’s going back, like the tablet I got recently (couldn’t use the Amazon shop app on it!).

Alexa…… please flip off the driver that cut me off

Alexa, play my angry driving playlist from Spotify - £30
Sorry officer, I was changing to my angry driving playlist on Spotify - £200, 6 points

Does this tether off your phones Internet?
    fishmaster's avatar
Yes it requires Internet hotspot from another device.
  19. Ilovedesign's avatar
Do you reckon this is a lot better than the first gen which is a bit meh
  20. sal2103's avatar
Isn't this the equivalent of having your mob connected to car Bluetooth and having the Alexa app open all the time whilst in your car holder? :/
  21. Amin_'s avatar
Can this just be used as a Bluetooth receiver? For listening to music from my phone
  22. ScubaDudes's avatar
Mine should have been delivered yesterday but was not inside the package along with another item that was actually in there. No damage to packaging or resealing 🤷 (edited)
