I got this last year for £129 with the offer plus 20%off and voucher with trade in of an old echo.

Honestly they need to improve the widgets, the notes, reminders and shopping lists are just not upto scratch.

Makes for a very expensive photo frame using prime cloud to rotate stored photos 50548334-MPyiz.jpg

How do you rotate the photos

My photos on my Echo Show 10 are always showing up with the wrong rotation. It's like it doesn't recognise EXIF

Still think this is just to expensive for what it is

Same goes for everything which requires DIY. Yes you can build your own device or integrate things yourself. But if you do not have the skills, patience to build one you pay premium similar to what you would pay to a tradesman to do let's say garden work whereas you could do the same work for fraction of a cost in most cases (depending on the work)

For me this needs to be used for Home Assistant it it’s a non starter

But if it could be sideloaded again (the blocked it before with an update) then it’s a no brainer especially at the cheap price

50558019-mQRkd.jpgPurchased one last year for £189.99 so don’t see how this is an amazing deal ? I actually got it for £137 after a trade in deal they had going with an old echo dot
anyway.. these things are amazing. Mine is front and centre in the kitchen and the whole family use it daily  (edited)

With Inflation and as the time machine has failed almost everytime Also the trade-in discount is not applicable to the Echo Show 15. I guess this is the best option at the moment.50558156-MK172.jpg

Had this a few months now. It's my kitchen TV and also handy for making notes, using as a timer, showing me the cameras/doorbell etc. I get IPTV sent to it through Plex so can pretty much what I want on there. Is annoying there is no side loading but so far I can do what I need on there.

why/how is there no sideloading (edited)

If you could link Google photos and use as photo frame would be all over this
    sheffield788's avatar
You can link Amazon or Facebook photos and use it as photo frame. At least on the Show 8, you can. Well, Facebook photos have not been showing since a month ago. Apparently, the developer is aware.
Otherwise, go with Google Smart display. The small ones are usually cheap. The Max one dropped in price, and that should do the job.
I don't know how much more this can bring in comparison with my Show 8, apart from the screen, which is the main selling point. But what I can say, out of my 4 Echo devices, the Show 8 is the worst. (edited)

Amazon seems to have money to burn to try and get Alex ecosystem into people's home hoping they will use it as a gateway to purchase other services ..

    Anyone recommend this?

I brought this LY, it’s useful if you have few smart devices at home, you can use for many things and look really cool

I have this in my kitchen so I can watch shows when cleaning up. I have show 8s and 5s but this one is too big for most places but looks fab on the wall (drilled in all wires hidden). Also use it lots to drop in and say hi to friends and family too. Love it. Also shows my google calendars and photos (I uploaded a load to the family vault so we can all see em).

I've been tempted a couple of times but it's too much money for me to spend on something I'll most likely just play music on and ask for the time. I've got a Show 5 as my alarm clock and a Show 8 down in the kitchen. I really like both of those devices so the show 15 does appeal to me, but I don't get the impression that it's a particularly big seller so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets discontinued along with any updates for it in the near future. That's what really puts me off buying it at the moment.

Great in the kitchen. Use it for timers, radio and music. Occasionally watch programmes on it. What they need to get sorted though is the catch up apps. You can use the web pages for BBC, itv 4 and 5 but no apps.

for some reason the tradein deal (25% off) takes 25% off the list price not the discounted price, so my total price was £132. Not bad worth trading something in if you want one of these!
    lukey103's avatar
Out of interest, what did you trade in?
  15. vinnynall1's avatar
Got it last year with the discount/trade in. Have it in the kitchen. It’s ok. Needs an update. Widgets/layout etc…

The speaker is awful. Hate listening to music through it.
  16. deleted2810965's avatar
would've been much better if it was larger..17-18"

I use this in landscape mode in my office & find it quite helpful for to-do lists and post-it notes. Used like this, you can also have a smaller picture frame at the side.
If you have a fire stick remote, it also acts as a fire tv (following a recent upgrade). Easy to add a good Bluetooth speaker if you're not happy with the sound - I don't think it's terrible though. (edited)

I bought it when it first came out with an optional stand too - only used it once - it’s in its original box now gathering dust - a huge disappointment and missed opportunity
