I purchased this phone during its prime and found it to be absolutely fantastic. I mainly use it for work, and the camera is perfect for my everyday needs. Additionally, the phone's fast processing speed allows apps, such as COD, to run smoothly without any issues. The fast charging feature has been particularly impressive, and I opted for the 256GB model. The phone's brightness during daytime usage is excellent, and the ability to use two SIM cards adds to its versatility. Great value for money.

I got this phone a couple of weeks ago, and was hoping for a phone with a camera and audio recording that would be suitable for filming at gigs and festivals. The Poco X5 Pro 5G shot perfectly focussed, smooth video and very clear sound - even from the (very loud) front row at a festival last weekend, and I was very impressed with the results - definitely on a par with more expensive, Apple, phones I would say.

I've had my X4 Pro over a year now and very happy with it. Still fast 15 months on. Good built quality and good software. But I know some people have very high expectations. I used to always have the best phones on contract, but after 2 Xiaomi phones in a row, there really is no need to spend stupid money on handsets for most people.

Is this much of an upgrade to the Poco X3 pro 256/8?
    vaderag's avatar
Not really. I'm on an X3 NFC and was considering, but overall probably not worth the upgrade

    this or nothing phone (1)?

Considering both options, the Poco offers a bigger battery, a headphone jack, and a brighter screen. Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone (1) has better build quality, a slightly better processor, wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, and a nice glyph system (if you like it). Personally, I'd recommend the Nothing Phone (1) if you can still grab it for £200. (edited)

Hi I'm looking to upgrade from my aging, but still functioning Poco F1. Is this an upgrade or what should I be looking for? I was looking at the Poco F5 but it's just a tad still out of my reach currently. (edited)

I've had a few Poco phones over the years they have been brilliant, currently using a Google pixel 6, it's great but seems like only upgrade is the camera. Everything else is not as good as the poco

Is this much of an upgrade from my dated X3 nfc
    maciejklaser's avatar
Not really, unless you're into 5G or you want AMOLED. Other than that - don't expect cameras to be better or this phone to be faster than X3 nfc

My wife has a S20 5G - is this worth it to upgrade?
    The_narrow_path's avatar
No, not by a long shot, S20 is better in all aspects. If you want anything to outclass it, look at the Mi 13 series from Xiaomi, not Poco.

Am I going to be upset if i update my 3 year old p30 pro to this?... Phone prices for the top drawer has got so expensive

    Yes

I know folks ask a lot of questions about which phones, but is something like this at this price better value than a Pixel 7a for example? I need a new phone but have no idea what to get
    vassy4u's avatar
    Pixel 7a is better.
  23. aidan_brennan's avatar
While the Pixel 7a brings improvements, its doubled price may not be necessary depending on your individual requirements. In my opinion, opting for the Poco could be a smarter choice, as it offers excellent performance for everyday tasks and allows you to save some dosh...
