Is it staight forward leaving after a few months?
    KodaBear's avatar
Yes. Just port your number back out, or go to your online account/app and switch off auto-renewal. Either of these will stop future payments being taken.

Waste of time. Lebara are great, lyca I'd awful

I've had an EE SIM in the past with superb 5g coverage in our area.
Just moved to Lyca, can't pick up 5g anywhere even though O2 in other SIM slot does.

Do they have VoLTE and WiFi calling now on EE network?
    KodaBear's avatar
It is coming in future they've confirmed. But not yet.

Right now if you want VoLTE and WiFi Calling you're limited to EE Direct, CMLink. Popit or 1p Mobile.

I recently switched over to Lyca. I managed to get a £10 per month deal for unlimited data. I've heard a lot about the poor customer service, but thought I'd give it a go and see for myself. If it all goes to pot, I'll cancel, but hoping that I never have a reason to have to contact them.

So far, I'm mostly getting 4G+ whatever that is, but speed tests show its around 70mbps download or above, which is more than enough for my needs. (edited)

I've got a bt mobile sim only deal (EE) and just got a Lyca 45gb £4.50 per month HUKD special - Ive done speedtests side by side at home (Wirral) and various places on way to office (Salford) and Lyca is massively faster each and every time. Im talking over 100mb/s up to 200mb/s faster. Think I'm going to port over, goodbye ever increasing BT contract

Took a deal out last night and said payment failed.
Paid again and yes, 2 Sims on the way and 2 payments taken!!
    A nice introduction to Lycamobile!!

Bought an E-sim deal, payment taken, no confirmation email till hours later. The the email with the installation arrives … completely blank and no QR code! Nice one Lyca ... 50662708-9YU1d.jpg

The same was sent to me when I signed up earlier this week. Took me 30+ mins to get through to someone, and they were unable to tell me if I had an account or not. They tell you to email them instead, and three days later, I've had no response. Live chat also doesn't work. When you do finally get through to someone, it just disconnects. It's like they actively refuse to help.

I've had to contact my bank and raise a dispute as I can't be doing with chasing Lyca. (edited)

Waiting for a new 6 months deal with unlimited data and 35GB EU data roaming cap, then I will jump ship from Lebara..
    iceburnmarko's avatar
It still on for £10 a month

Awful, amateur company, with zero customer service. I wouldn't join them if it was just 1p per month.

EE network should be one of the best. Perhaps they don't allow BAND 20 which is longer range 4g. Better indoors especially.
  14. jabbada's avatar
where does it say 12 quid quidco
  15. Lukasz_Jurys's avatar
LYCA should have been investigated by OFCOM id say. Its not possible this provider have such a bad customer service...
  16. Damien_baldwin's avatar
Awful customer service , lebara (Vodafone network) are 100% better and can get good deal through uswitch . (edited)

Had enough of this mob, just switched the wife over to EE for £8 per month, 5GB. But I can gift her upto 100GB every month through the EE app.

It's going to cost me a bit more in the long run but I won't have to deal with Lyca, or the wife moaning about Lyca (Hopefully) anymore.
    Lukasz_Jurys's avatar
If you want good deal then go topcashback.co.uk, find e2save and choose vodafone 12mth,100 Gb contract for 16 gbp per month .cashback by redemption and topcashback will lower it to smth like 8 gbp a month.
  18. desi_lad's avatar
Lyca Mobile are con. They sell the bundle but do not honour after a month. I bought 0.45/month deal in July. After a month, it didn't renew. Stay away.
    Lukasz_Jurys's avatar
It might be a renew option unticked in my account on their website

Do we need to top-up in order to get UL Mins/Text? As I got the 20GB data but zero Mins/Text
    KodaBear's avatar
    Zero means unlimited, rather confusingly.

If you try to make a call you'll find that it works despite not having any credit and supposedly no minutes available in your allowance.

As others have commented, 5G coverage is no existant, and 4G is patchy. Had Lebara before, and will switch back early as the coverage is substandard.
  21. Wii89's avatar
Cant be bad as three network speeds in London

My Lebara promotion will end this month. Can I use this deal ? Because the terms and conditions mentioned that effective from 23 May to 31 July 2023 only
    MAC_ALI's avatar
