    This is the faster SSD model which essentially means that when your RAM is all used up the system can use the SSD without too much slowdown. The 256GB model has a slower SSD.

    Better to get external Nvme if you plan to write a lot it will extend the ssd life on your Macmini, create new folder called Applications and transfer all your app in the external Nvme (edited)

    I’ve already got an m1 8GB 256gb. I would upgrade to m2 for a good price on a 16GB. Storage isn’t a big deal as you can easily plug a hard drive into it and make a virtual folder.

    I’d mention though that the only reason to upgrade would be for better performance with switch emulation. The 8GB version has been surprisingly good for the time I’ve had the m1 though. I just crave more power for no good reason.
