I specifically wanted a Phillips TV for ambilight as well as full HDR support. This is the cheapest by some distance compared to other retailers. Delivery is another 20-40 on top.

Wow, 65 inch oled for less than a grand. I'm currently looking for a 65 inch tv and there is no little around my budget of £700ish. I was close to buying the Philips 887 with ambilight for £800 but that's not an OLED, but it comes with 6 years RS warranty.

    This is tempting though

There was deal recently for a 65" Neo QLED Samsung QN88C for £890 with £200 cashback through Costco. Might be worth checking your local store as it's a great deal, next cheapest is £1300.
People rave about OLED's and they're great, but not perfect. They're just different.
I'd personally save your money and get a QLED or Neo QLED as they get brighter (2000 nits compared to OLED's 1000 nits) and will have a longer lifespan due to the limited lifespan of the OLED. Plus no risk of burn-in 🤷‍♂️

55OLED 807 also available for the same price -- seems a good deal for those who don't need the larger size? Understand it's very comparable to a C2

Yeah - newer model with a better screen

Well, Currys still haven't called back nearly 2 weeks on. I'm still hoping to gain a partial refund to keep it.
Wonder what Currys/other retailer would sell this at as an A-Grade unit?

Huge fan of Ambilight tv, if this had 4 sides Ambilight it would be a great price. Decent price though 🏻

oled, hdmi 2.1, 120hz, ambilight, 65 inch.... not too shabby, trying to convince myself i don't need it

Shame it only comes with a 2 years warranty
    JoShmo's avatar
That'd be 5 or 6 years if buy with credit card.

This will be on clearance with the .97 price so limited stock around. Grab it while you can

How does it compare to LG G3, C3 or Samsung s95c or Sony a95k?

Better than the a series lg but not as good as g/c because it doesn't have the ex panel. Picture is still very very good

Any Currys discount codes work on this TV?

    Oled is v good .
I’ve had a Hisense oled for over a year . The limitation is the power. Cheap oleds still have a great panel but can’t light it up so the ‘peak brightness’ is poor or only theoretical .
Good news . Non HDR looks amazing on oled . I would rather watch HD content on oled than blinding HDR on a premium LCD

    Purchased, thanks OP

    Same, maybe OOS already

The newer ambilight tvs don’t sync with Philips Hue. Not sure if this falls within that range.

might pop into my local store on the off chance they have this.... we have a 55'' with ambi light which we bought 5 years ago - excellent tv and we were only saying the other day we want an OLED with ambi light! :-) Great find OP

Panels do have faults. Good buy if 5 yr warranty chucked in.

Can anyone help, got a 3 year old philips 58” Ambilight and the screen is so glossy and reflective that I can see more of what’s happening out the window than the tv picture. It’s wall mounted which doesn’t help.

Is this better on the OLED version? Really want to keep Ambilight but it’s the one aspect I hate about the tv and would move to OLED if it made a big difference.

Alternatively are there any Ambilight models with a Matt screen, love the Samsung frame screens which has pretty minimal reflection but again want to keep the Ambilight.

    Any help greatly appreciated!
    slo_moshun's avatar
Can't help really, but Philips panels are fault prone suffering green/purple lines of death. I switched and found a non ambilight TV less off-putting funnily enough, having loved it initially

Went in to my local currys and they were selling this as their ex display model. Same price.

So, this Phillips 65" OLED arrived Wednesday and was unboxed and on the wall immediately.
However, I noticed the screen lightly scuffed in the middle :/ . Whilst only cosmetic and not visible at all when viewing, I've advised Currys who will refund me in full once returned.
They won't exchange it as its OOS. They wouldn't agree to a small partial refund for me to keep it either !!
I asked them to escalate the issue, and I'm waiting for a call back, but I don't think they'll offer anything other than a return with a refund
The dilemma now is what to do next :/

Depending on the nature of the scuff would personally keep as looking around there are no Phillips TVs anywhere, to the point of making me wonder if they are pulling out of the market

Anyone know where I can get a oled 48/50 inch for a similar price? My TV packed in a few hours ago
