I crunched the numbers based on CPI index forecasts and it averages out at around £43 / month after the upfront cost.

Nice - you deserve more votes! So what’s the more realistic total price of the contract then?

If it matters to you, ID Mobile don't support visual voicemail. They do offer wifi calling though...

    No tfl wifi

ID mobile offering some fantastic deals on iPhones at the moment.

Baffles me why people still bother with big phone contracts now, especially with all the price hikes every April.
Better to get the phone sim free (or on interest free with apple) and stick to short term sim only/rolling contracts.
    andyzetec's avatar
    Is it though?

If you take the £359 upfront + £29.99/m month option in the link and assume 15% increase each April you would pay:

    £359 +
    £29.99 x 6 (£179.94)
    £34.49 x 12 (£413.88)
    £39.66 x 6 (£237.96)

    Total cost £1,190.78

If you bought the same phone interest free from Apple (£999) and used a 100GB Lyca sim for 24 months (£10/m) it would cost you £1239 overall.

128gb is £999 outright. It’ll quickly fill up with spatial videos.

indeed 512GB is the ideal storage u really want

Not really used an iphone but my partner has a macbook m1 pro. Why can't they use m1 chip in the phone for a boost?
    Openttdbeer's avatar
Bursted, single core performance in the A-series Apple processors can be better than the M-series when used in mobile devices. Which is what you want in a phone, fast bursts so it doesn't cook the phone or it's battery.

Look here at iPads with the M2 chip vs. phones with last years A16: browser.geekbench.com/ios…rks

How about this £39/month, 0 upfront for 15 pro max?
    tempt's avatar
Read the small print - “This is a 36-month contract. You can swap to a new phone anytime after 31 days, or from 24 months at no extra cost.“

It’s a three year contract with three RPI linked increases and by the end of it you’ll be paying ~£60/month.

Mhmm zero reason for people to upgrade, no noticeable differences worthwhile and inflation on top of that too. I would imagine new phone sales will start to drop and zero innovation just stale models. The industry needs a shake up meh (edited)
    B7869's avatar
Which idiot is upgrading yearly anyway? Most people aren’t. Most people will be upgrading from iPhone X (which isn’t getting iOS 17) and also from xs/11. Your point makes no sense

4-figures for a phone still amazes me
    kane_th_gaming's avatar
Just wait a year and it’ll be 600
  10. Hakalyal's avatar
Remember to factor in an estimated annual price increase for the monthly element into your total cost comparison. ID mobile increased the monthly amount for those in contract by over 13% this April
    Smadmad's avatar
Most phone providers increase by either cpi or rpi plus 3.9%

    1. Its idmobile 2. Dont forget rpi increases every year….my £32 contract is £41.92 at the end of 2 years really messed up my calcs
  16. fishmaster's avatar
Hugely disappointing considering the price and this now has USB-C that the charging speed is so poor. Accepts just 15W of power

The same bloody phone over and over and over and over😬

    If it ain't broke...

Mobile phones in general have stagnated over the years. There's the folding ones I suppose, but do they greatly improve the experience in any meaningful way? I had the Z Fold 5 recently and sold it on because I didn't think so.
  18. pako.pako's avatar
I would even consider it, but my Xs is still going strong

My Ex is still going strong too....all the more reason to get a new phone!

Believe you can also use the code VC10OFF from the other deal which gets you £10 off the upfront cost

Best deal you are going to get.

Apple are still doing very well. The Apple Sandwich is coming, now a maybe next year.
    Haak's avatar
Does it come with M1 chips on the side?

128GB is not much space if you plan to use this to take the highest quality videos.
  24. adm9147's avatar
Ordered with the lower contract cost and higher upfront, works out cheaper plus will work out better with the yearly rises
    ando's avatar
Ye I did the same, also went for the unlimited data for £30 more upfront, makes it £1.25 more each month for the unlimited data
  25. _Achilles_'s avatar
    £1000+ for a phone... a phone!
    JC7's avatar
Its been this way since 2017, where have you been?
  26. Roystrainset's avatar
Can you even get a 14 pro cheaper than this?

Edit: Just looked at same deal and the 14 is slightly more expensive, albeit with a lower upfront cost. Strange. (edited)
    Radu_Rusu's avatar
I went for £45/mo + £29 upfront. I think that's the sweet spot for me
  27. RealDonaldTrump's avatar
£65 refer a friend, not sure if HUKD allows, that would make a even better deal.
  28. the_king8xN's avatar
Will wait for more reviews but the ones I've read still put the cameras on this behind the s23 ultra. So that is initially disappointing.
    ohsomeonenew's avatar
Really?! If true then it will be disappointing. They have issues with HDR processing in recent phones and expected them to fix it in 15 series. Have to compare it with pixel 8 pro as well.
  29. sophie.w's avatar
    Ordered one! Thanks 😃
  30. plewis00's avatar
Very good overall price - depends if you can make use of ID Mobile effectively and don’t forget annual price rises, at £40/month, this could easily add another £100+ to lifetime contract cost.
  31. sparklehedgehog's avatar
superb prices on the new iPhones on there, just a shame its only ID Mobile and Vodafone
  32. adm9147's avatar
Has anyone had an order confirmation yet?

Yes, received order confirmation the next morning.

wasn't there an unlimited deal for 256gb for the same overall cost and less monthly fee (therefore less price hike) a few days ago which got voted cold...
