Using this exact phone since June. Picked for £342 from AliExpress with 30 wats wireless charges another 12 quid.

Being Xiaomi it's has its software quirks however is very high spec and quality.

I would not worry about limited software support. When updates run out just unlock bootloader and get some custom ROMs and then use it for another X number of years. This is a LEGO kit(thus get it for the minimum possible price from ali) and treat it like that. If you want something that will be supported for long time out of the box - get an iPhone or very high end android, but be prepared to pay a lot more.

You can also install Xiaomi.eu if you want to stay in the Xiaomi software realm and still get their feature set.

How is the camera compared to a Mi 12?
    Crossbow's avatar
This seems slightly better in good light, while the Mi 12 is better in low light - at least from this comparison gsmarena.com/pic…285 - video is better on 12 in both.

No security updates in two years so you have to. Throw it away in today's environment.

Apple gives 5 years after the last date the phone is sold. Much better to buy a second hand iphone and make do with the hardware you actually need as opposed to what you want.

My F2 Pro had it last update in Feb this year so it's effectively worthless now.

For those that haven't had a xiaomi or pocophone before the software still has many bugs slowdowns. My phone has regularly stop syncing and lost all nunber added over the previous 3/4 months.

Slow downs when using the app switcher, regular reboots due to slowness.

You might be lead to believe you are winning with all the bells and whistles but if the impmentation through the software is poor then it's doesn't matter if the lenz is 100 mp. The pictures are still rubbish in any non perfect environmental conditions. (edited)

Not to take away from your point, which is valid, but research custom ROMs. Pixel experience, pixel os, los etc. Tons of life left in slightly older hardware. (Often) better performance, more frequent updates.

Will it feel like an upgrade from a S21 ultra? I feel like I need to wait a couple more years right?

Yh keep waiting. They trade blows in a few areas but overall the S21 is still the better phone.

This is exactly my problem, software is rubbish. And you need the software to use the phone. I am torn between going between a google phone or back to iphone again.
