If you are a pro, using them 4-6 hours a day, you are probably better off with a brushless. However, as a simple person that use tools to dabble around the house, the additional battery life of brushless is irrelevant and the additional wear life is also likely irrelevant as they are likely to last me 20 years or more.
ITS has a good summary of Makita Combi drills:
hub.its.co.uk/buy…uy/MAKITA DHP482Another step up in power, but with a brushed motor we have the very popular (our most popular) DHP482. This has always offered an excellent combination of power and performance Vs value (which is why it’s so popular)
The DHP482 has a brushed motor, 2-speed gearbox with plastic housing and plastic chuck, 21 torque settings and will deliver 60Nm of torque. What is the best Makita combi drill for the price?
Makita DHP482 – This offers a very impressive performance for a general duty Makita combi drill. It will be able to achieve most things you ask of it on site and it won’t let you down! - Awesome price for both!
- Cheers OP!
- They've been cheaper, but not much.
- Do these take the White 18v batteriesThe only white makita batteries I've ever seen are G series so a big NO they won't fit these powertools.
However if your batteries have LXT printed on them then they will definitely fit. (edited) - Yes that’s correctNo it's not correct, it sounds like the person is using G series batteries so they won't fit.
- Price seems decent for Makita
- £94.49?
- Any batteries deal?
- £98.99 for me
- Gone.
