These are good cables, don't waste your money on more expensive ones.

Since the signal is digital, they don't need to be artyfarty with expensive wire and posh connectors. I'm using one from the £1 shop right now on my monitor, never let me down in 5 years.

    "'ultra' certified".

Very much better than the inferior "certified".

Many thanks OP, will be good for my use, high wall mounted hotel tv's to my laptop

If that's your use case then beware that these cables are thick and heavy for travel, especially at 3m length. It is also unlikely that you'll need a HDMI 2.1 cable for hotel TVs. I'd reckon you'll get by with thinner, less-shielded HDMI 2.0 cables.

This thinner AmazonBasics HDMI 2.0 3m cable for only a little more should do the trick if you ever decide that the cable in this deal is too thick. amazon.co.uk/Ama…Z9/

8k?? That will be ideal to watch... erm... nothing that's broadcast in 8k!

It's just starting the max it supports. What's more important is that it can support 4k at 144hz.

Don't buy expensive hdmi cables. These do the job just as well.

Yep. It still burns in my mind when i bought my first flatscreen tv and dvd set from Currys (about £1000 iirc) - i paid £40 for a 1 meter HDMI cable.
I would go back in time and slap myself if i could.

Is this ok for the latest Xbox?
    Davidp87's avatar
    Yup

I do love it when people ask are they OK for xbox and playstation. The cables that came with the console are the only ones you're going to need unless you need a longer one. Don't be fooled into marketing gimmicks just use the supplied cable. (edited)

True, but I move my ps5 from the living room, connected to my tv with the supplied cable, to the kitchen. I connect it to a gaming monitor there, so got one of these for that purpose. Handles 1440p/120 with VRR no issues

Why get this when you can get the equivalent from Currys for just £49.99

Is it actually 2.1? I bought one of these for my PC monitor that is 3840x1600 resolution. It can do 144hz without overclocking (175hz overclocked) but the best I can set the refresh rate to in Windows 11 is 85. That's an improvement over the previous HDMI cable I was using, but nowhere near the 144hz I would expect. (edited)
    Alex_H's avatar
I would say it's likely because that's the max your monitor supports via hdmi. You'll need to use displayport to get the rated resolution and hz it supports.

I tried to return one of these and Amazon told me to keep it
    Mark_McAj's avatar
Cost them more to return than its worth to them.

Would these be able to deliver the max settings a PS5/XboxSX is capable of on a suitable tv? (edited)

Brilliant deal for 48gbs cable. I don't need one at present as I've got a few but will get for the future.
Just bought this. I've been using a belkin 48gbs for a few years now and they cost much more.
It pays to be future proofed. (edited)

Hadn't realised Amazon had updated these 'basics' cables to 2.1 spec recently, these are great cables ! Work in IT have done a substantial amount of AV install work too both private/commercial - have never saw an Amazon's brand cable that didn't manage to reach it's max spec 100% of the time during rigorous tests
(48 Gbps in this case! - though finding real world users/cases that actually require this - instead of thinking they require it isn't huge)

2 years ago i came across a workplace that was using 10x £150 each HDMI 1.2 cables that had been bought from an AV store as 'best ultra clean mega fast crystal diamond gold super video etc cables' and installed that year by the IT boss and was then taking flak from their bosses that non of the 4k displays were working properly :O

Put a bunch of £15 Kenable cables in (as for use case, they needed fairly long runs and braided cables to suit the workplace) then they were amazed when I told them those new cables were actually over spec and more than they actually needed anyway

cant find any info online, so asking here
i have a 5 metre hdmi 2.0 cable from pc to tv (near skirting board, white, cant see it)
works fine, but cant find a hdmi 2.1 cable 5m in white..
but it seems i dont need one..

    i bought a qn95b (hdmi 2.1) 2 weeks ago
    i have a nvidia 4090 (hdmi 2,1)

i set res on pc to 4k, 144hz HDR 4:4:4 chroma Vrr enabled too. previously 4k60hz.
works fine, and have no dropouts..its been over a week

i thought these cables listed here are the only ones that support my resolution? (8k hdmi 2.1 ultra cables)

my 5m hdmi 2.0 cable 3 years old is only listed as 2.0, yet is displaying 4k 144hz vrr HDR
    what gives?

    link to cable for info

Working well at 4k for me, the plastic on the connections were off centre on one needing to swap ends as limited room on input but other 3 ends were fine
