Apparently mice absolutely hate Peppermint Oil - you can also get "wire wool" which repels vermin (used to line areas where mice can get in, such as in behind sinks, etc).

Only way is to physically stop them getting in. As already pointed out fill all gaps with wire wool, make sure no gaps under doors etc. If they are in your house, lay traps/poison. Don't waste your time with nonsense like electronic devices or smells, they don't work.

You can't do this, they can get through the tiniest of gaps.

I've never had to deal with mice in my house, everyone I know who has ended up calling in an exterminator, that would be my advice, get the experts in, call the council they generally offer an affordable service but may not be as quick as going direct.

Some councils offer a pest control service which you pay for at discount rate last time
    I used it was £50

As others have said traps are best, small piece of Cadburys Caramel as bait.

Do NOT put poison down, you don't know where it will die..... (edited)

Best advice is don't feed them like Gremlins
keep all food secure and the place clean

have them in my attic, not found a way to get rid tbh

    • Fill the holes around the house
    • Put cotton wool and wire in the mouse entrances/exits
    • Regularly empty the bins around the house. Keep bins only where you need them
    • Take away the food source
    • Put traps out
    • Get a cat if that's an option for you. Even if you can bring a friend's cat over regularly for a few hours and let it wander around, that helps too because it leaves its smell.

Basically do everything that people tell you.

And all of those things collectively should work in reducing the issue. Not sure they ever fully go away though.

When I had several mice years ago I tried everything and the only thing that solved my issue was mouse traps with mars bar near kitchen bin and in the loft, I caught several and not had an issue since. (edited)

    A hungry cat

Cats don't need to be hungry to kill mice. They just need to be awake & not elderly.

you can't repel mice. you need to kill them and i found the best way is to put "the big cheese" bait down.

I agree trying to repel mice is a ticket to nowhere.

You need to kill or trap and release them far from your home.

I used humane mouse traps found on Amazon as I could leave them out even with little kids.

I drove quite a few away from my home in a few days and then used wire wool to block where they were coming from.

Peanut butter & a mouse trap that kills

    They hate black pepper.

Grind some black pepper and spread across the way they come in from.

As others have already said you really need to stop them getting in as a first step, then do a purge to get rid of the ones trapped inside.

    Buy an electric mouse trap.
If you want to live catch them then you need a walk the plank trap.
Mousetrap Monday on YouTube will guide you and advise on what to use and show real tests.
The rubbish sold that will not work is ridiculous. I wasted money buying useless devices and traps
