About this deal
As far as I know this is the black version of a new New Seiko 5 model and it's gorgeous imho. And unusually it's in a sensible size for once - 39mm - so should suit nearly every wrist!
I post good watch deals when I see them but this is one I'm seriously thinking of going for to save wear on my Omega. It's not cheap but I think it's great value at this price.
2 year Seiko guarantee and 100m water resistance.
Rubicon are currently offering 25% off (that's £95) with code: FIELD25. Don't know how long that will last.
There's a steel version on a bracelet at a slightly higher price (SSK0123K1) which I've already posted:

The Seiko 5 Sports Field collection was created with an ‘in the field’ military design – taking inspiration from a style originally called a ‘trench watch,’ created to be robust and reliable in tough conditions – echoing the Seiko 5 Sports characteristics.
This Seiko 5 Sports ‘Deception’ field watch with its black dial and bezel takes the design to the next level, with a GMT function that allows you to track a second time zone. The silver-coloured bezel features a 24-hour indication and a large, orange GMT hand for legibility. The base design and size remains the same as the original field watches, ensuring that the design style remains timeless whilst the calibres evolve. Whilst being a robust sports watch, this piece has a black calf leather strap.
Seiko 5 Sports is known for over fifty years of reliability, durability, performance and value. ‘’5’’ represents the original five key features of every Seiko 5 still present today: Automatic movement, Day-date display, Water Resistance, Recessed crown and Durable case and strap.
All this with a 2 Year Manufacturers (International) warranty for added reassurance. Seiko offers an exceptional range of watches for men. All with the most up-to-date designs and long-lasting durability, whether they are in the fashion, sport or technical ranges.

Any thoughts ?
Very difficult to compare but I would prefer this one.
Isn't one of the five features that define a Seiko 5 meant to be that the crown is at the four o'clock position? :/

To my eyes, this is similar to a GMT Alpinist (different handset and numerals) for a third of the price.
Got a Seiko 5 sport ssk001 "black grape" for my crimbo. Great watch for the money .
I really like the one posted in black. Heat from me
Edit. Prefer the black coated, but it doesn't come with a bracelet like the stainless
Also, I note there is a stainless white dialled JDM 'polar' type model. (edited)
