YouTube Premium

Has anyone managed to pay for YouTube premium from India?

I have used a vpn which YouTube shows I’m in India however it wants me to add a card from India therefore doesn’t accept any of my UK card.

Any advice on how to resolve this . Thanks

Set VPN to Albania or Moldova or Myanmar.

Try Moldova but it says YouTube premium not available in that country

I was able to use my UK card for a YP sub from India. But recently they have cracked down on this and only accept Indian cards. I just use one of my relatives card and pay them for the year upfront. Once in a while they will stop premium asking me to validate he card again with a OTP. It’s worth the faff though. 23£/ yr vs 228£/yr

Can you get a proper PAYG SIM from India (not this 30 day nonsense) and just put it in a spare phone for such a circumstance?

This proves that they can supply a digital product for that price, and so the rest is pure extortion

Don't know about India but I have mine set to Turkey using a FUPS card. A Turkish Google account and paying via Google Pay also works but I recommend setting up a new account if going that route, don't do it on your main account.

I pay for Youtube Premium through India by using a Currensea card - it just bills me by direct debit after my payment each month. I don't know why it works, but it seems to do just fine. I had to VPN initially to get the account open, but after that it's been fine. I only have the essential level free card, but given that I only use it for this I didn't need anything else

I use my revolut card, they had an issue a year ago saying the card was expiring then when adding a new it failed. So I created a new digital card and no issues. But when checking my purchase history on my work phone with this card it shows my last YouTube was 2022, but it does not show any recent purchases with epic games turkey. So I think it's a bug my end.

My Ukraine one is still working around 9 months after signing up.

    Circa £2.20 a month.

Used to use my UK credit card for years until it expired and couldn't then edit card details so ended up using a Revolut card with no issues

Family plan? And how much does it costs?

I did an annual plan via Turkey VPN in September 2022, then had to do an annual plan via India VPN the following time. I am still paid until September 2024 but wanting to renew my annual plan again but whichever UK credit/debit card I try to use it complains about the billing address of the card.

Has anyone successfully taken out an annual plan lately via Turkey/India or another country that offers them (apart from UK of course) ?

This is exact issue I am having. Renewal next month. Did you find a solution ?

I used to sub via India, but something changed with payments from there and it stopped working.

Turkey is fine though, it's like £1.50/month (using a curve card). (edited)
