Two grand for a couple of flights is considered a hot deal? I'm poorer than I thought I already knew I was. Utterly baffling.

Edit for those who responded telling me prices are relative and that this is a categorical "bargain": I just lumped some searches into Kayak for comparison with absolutely no effort on my part to hunt for the best prices; two passengers flying business from Paris to NYC, return, and the first dates I picked (22nd Feb - 7th Mar) come up at £1,306. 12th - 26th Feb come to £1,759. 8th to 22nd Feb come to £1,350. Two of which are with the exact same airline.

I'll reiterate; what "bargain" are you all barking on about here if you can just lump some searches into Kayak for the exact same itinerary with minimal effort, and already shave about £500 off the total cost, with zero change in service/experience.

This is what I mean. You can't credibly declare such flight prices a "bargain", when their prices just swing and bounce due to fake demand and creating FOMO. Petrol rocketing to £3.00 per litre tomorrow doesn't automatically make a £2.90 per litre price a "bargain". My bottom line is I believe you are still getting fleeced, only this way you're lulled into being happier about it. (edited)

Those prices you’re quoting are per person by the way not total, you need to read again and times by two. Also if you ever do get the chance to travel business class - you will see what all the fuss is about. Deals on this site don’t just go super hot for nothing, especially “luxury” deals. (edited)

Imagine the disappointment of heading out to the city of love and then announcing you're leaving to go to New York instead!

The best part of Paris is the airport or the train station out of the place!

I still remember they used to fly from Luton to new York. Plane had 80 business class seats.

Shame there's no similar service from LHR or LGW. Transiting via ORY is a pain and adds unnecessary hours to an already long journey.

Yes the prices out of London have been ludicrous recently because of the extremely high air passenger duty and surcharge rishi introduced for business class - highest in the world I believe. The way I would play this is to do it as a stopover in Paris and make the trip even more romantic.

    Nice, Business Class is cool.

Way back in December of 2009, when I owned an iPhone 3GS and Facebook was fun, I went on a month long trip to Australia and NZ. I travelled out solo but was meeting friends out there. I booked via British Airways, but it was a codeshare with Qantas, the airline I'd be flying with. I booked the flight many months before travelling, and forgot about it for a while. One day I decided to logon and just check my flight details were all still there and as expected, but instead of Economy I was showing as Business Class, BA used different terms for this but I can't recall what they were. I was confused, but figured it was an error, all other details were spot on.

Anyway, on the day of the flight I still showed as being Business Class, I checked in and they sent me to the Business Class check-in and then pointed me to the lounge, I got fast security and this amazing all I could eat and drink lounge to chill out in until my flight. I was waiting the whole time for someone to tap me on my shoulder and say I shouldn't be there, never happened. I got on my flight, they took and hung up my coat (that was new!) and I got sat in Business Class, had champagne, enjoyed every thing I could about it. Of course the best bit was having a fully reclining seat, that turned into a bed!

Never had an explanation for it. The flight was full, so some think because I was a solo traveler, they just bumped me up to free space, who knows. I didn't look that gift horse in the mouth! If you get the chance, it really is a fun thing, the deal seems great! (edited)

£2200 if you include travel to Paris.
You can fly for £600 for two people in Economy from London - that's £1600 difference.

The flight is 8h, a third of day in a hotel. I would much rather spend this £1600 for better hotel/room than this.

But if you have excess of money, why not

Fair enough everyone entitled to their own opinion. I do think it’s a very nice treat to be able to experience business class at least once and this is one of the best prices I’ve seen in a long time for doing it.

Does anyone on here know the additional emissions a business class flight generates? I despair at the fact everyone seems to be chasing luxury at the cost of the planet. We’ve turned into a society of people buying stuff just because they can afford it rather than need it.

    now.... this looks tempting

Why would someone pay this much money for a bit of comfort when you can fly for less than half of this. It's not a long flight anyway. Unless you are rich but then you probably not on this app
    clavier3895's avatar
I would most certainly consider ~8 hours a long flight, can’t even remember the last time I’ve been on a flight that long

Looking at the comments on this thread there is clearly a divide in Britain, rich wouldn't bother and would fly from London, poor or those middle class with kids wouldn't do it anyway and would see better use of the money... So this leaves the deal for the middle class singles who just want to treat themselves and why not.... Everyone should enjoy once while circumstances allow.... Hence maybe the rest should be less passionate about their comments. A deal for those that want it with a nice twin destination break to treat the other half. (edited)

I wouldn’t consider myself rich but haven’t travelled in economy for as far back as I can remember. It’s true what they say, once you’ve gone left theres no turning back.

    Are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
    New York, New York
    I want to wake up

Can I just go to New York and come straight back,I wouldn't be able to afford a place to stay too

Flown with them when they used to fly from London to New York. Having flown business with a number of airlines, this is definitely below par with them, even BA business is better (and BA business is the worst of the business flights I’ve taken)

Their new business suite is up with the best of them, but not rolled out on that ma y routes yet

Hot deal, but these places have gone down hill recently IMO, Filth, Homelessness, out pricing themselves... Just like most other cities lol.... I'm out (but voted 🔥)

I first went to NYC in 1998, the difference now in cleanliness and safety is one of the greatest improvements I have ever seen for a large city.
