Doesn't inspire confidence.Quickbooks has been around for at least over 25 years.
They started competing right up against SAGE who where the market leaders in accounting software. However, SAGE was like the accounting software god at the time but Quickbooks changed the market especially for small businesses.
Nothing wrong with the company or the software but you would need the right plan to subscribe to & in reality you are into the hundreds without even thinking about it.
Even at normal price it is cheap but you still need to enter the data properly. It is a genuine company though & the software is supposed to be user friendly & it is much cheaper than SAGE. (edited) - So it is £129.60 per year (less VAT if you are registered) after the 12 months.
I am not saying it is a bad product because I don't know, but after the 12 months you will be hooked in to the software & moving to another brand would take an accountant to do. - No idea about QuickBooks, but I'm with Xero and can't fault themThere's an ongoing issue with Xero with their emailing setup. They use their own Xero addresses which can issue with deliverability, you're unable to set up and DNS records to send from your own domain and found there are a number of customers or prospective customers that have emails go to spam.
Xero's solution? Message all of your contacts to ask them to add 'xxxxxx@xeroxxxx' to their address book.
Dozens, hundreds of prospective customer that you need to contact in advance to carry out an email instruction to them because you may, or may not, end up sending them a quotation or invoice?! - This any good for someone just starting off with a small self-employed side hustle? Not looking to spend a lot and don't have tonnes I would need to input yetIf you had an accountant then I think they might advise you to buy it for £10.80
But you will still need to understand how to input data, understand tax years & realise if you want to change your software later it can be a bit difficult swapping from one to another. (edited) - I've been using this for over 5 years and it's made my life so much easier. You can upload receipts by taking pictures on your phone or emailing them direct to quickbooks and you can create and send invoices from here straight to customers. You need a basic understanding of how and what you can categorise/claim for as business expenses, but this info can be found on the HMRC website or online seminars.
Highly recommended from my point of view and at this price it's a steal! - That's a very good price
- This deal runs until 5th of February
- If you need accounting software then consider opening a free bank account with Mettle bank (by NatWest) which gives a free subscription to FreeAgent. FreeAgent is an excellent accounting software.
Don’t have much experience with Quickbooks, but I have heard some negative things about it.Interesting. I hadn't heard of Mettle. Is it a problem that they don't seem to support CHAPS payments? - Anyone who is an existing customer manage to get this to work? I tried with Essentials and it wouldn't let me.
