    Terrible viewing angle!
    chancooluk's avatar
It looks like the 65" is IPS, so the viewing angle shouldn't be too bad. Contrast head on will be poor though.

That’s an amazing price for a 65 inch TV.
10 bit panel with 60hz. Most cheap TV’s on here only have 8+ panels with 50hz. Makes a big difference especially with HDR content

All TVs sold in the UK will be 60hz panels I believe. 50hz is usually referring to the power input.

And unfortunately it's not a true 10 bit panel. Just the usual 8 + FRC that you see at this price point.

So cheap for such a big TV.

lol I keep seeing great cheap TV deals, my problem is there is nothing wrong with the one I have so can't talk myself into buying one. But this is a superb deal for a huge TV.

The one you have isn't OLED.. Neither is this, but now you need to spend £900 on a nice big one of them.

Hmmm got stung from Philips with my 55 inch which died just outside 2 year warranty! Still have the TV in the spare room it's immaculate but the panel died... philips refused to do anything.

350 with 5 year warranty cheap TV! Do I jump? Hmmm

Great price but seems like a bit of a thick boi

Should mean it's got a direct LED backlight and it's not edge lit LED, which is a good thing 😁

Heat from me. Budget focused 65" Phillips TV but a great buy at this price point

    These are Vestel's I beleive.
    sheffield788's avatar
Vestel does not make Philips TVs.

Wow very tempting for my parents who just watch standard TV and don't care about much else

Costco 5 year warranty is unmatched also!
    sheffield788's avatar
Richer Sounds does a 6-year warranty. My Samsung TV broke after 5.5 years. Luckily, it was from RS.
  16. Weehamish's avatar
Reading up on Costco warranty it seems one of the best around so this truly is a bargain

If you are not a member then for £15 you can have a 1 Year online membership only

What is better a Toshiba (vestel) 65" or this phillips both with a 5 year warranty (edited)
    sheffield788's avatar
Don't go with Toshiba. I had a 32-inch Toshiba, which lasted a month only. Was replaced with another Toshiba, lasted 2 weeks. They had no Toshiba left, so they replaced it with a JVC. That one broke within weeks. Both brands are Vestel. Never seen in my life such flimsy TVs. I had Vestel before, and it was solid and lasted a long time. Obviously, things changed. Got my money back and paid more for Samsung.

I'm assuming it's their own OS not Android?

I know someone who is a member but I doubt they would deliver redirect delivery to another address.

Only problem are the Apps as Philips are not addressing their software issues or updates so lagging on certain platforms could be a deal breaker but if you are using it for another purpose it should be fine. (edited)

I'd pay another £100 to get Ambilight.

If you have grandparents with iffy eye sight this will be ideal, but if they're 'picky' you will be in trouble.

  27. iby_m1's avatar
So much TV for the money
  28. rich146's avatar
It’s a discontinued product so Costco probably bought the lot out

    PUS7008 is a 2023 model isn't it? The 2021 models ended with a 6, 2022 with a 7, 2023 with an 8.

The equivalent model from 2021 is the PUS7506 (edited)
