Meaco Arete dehumidifier - is this normal?

Hi

Recently bought the 25L arete dehumidifier, when expelling air, it only comes out of the far right hand side, very little air comes from the left hand side (see pic) - is this normal, does it happen for others?

Also night mode does nothing but turn the lights off, the fan is just as noisy with night mode on or off.

Any input greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Adam

They use a cylinder fan rather than a regular one, so this is normal. Other makes are the same.

That's the way they work. Air in one side and out the other. What were you expecting?

I assumed the air came in the back where the filter is?

Air doesn't come in at this front section (edited)

If you took the time to read the manual all would have been self explanitery .

The fan always runs in slow mode unless the humidity in the room is 15% above your target humidity when it kicks in to high speed so you will not see a reduction in fan noise in night mode unless your walls are running in water .

Thanks for your kind reply, I did happen to browse the manual and read this which prompted the question:

"Night mode can be set whilst the dehumidifier is in smart humidity mode by pressing the night mode / child lock button once. The fan speed will be reduced"

    Explanatory*

    According to "experts" online:

"Night mode turns lights off and reduces fan speed to lowest setting so all should hear is a gentle hum"

Yea I'd read that too, but it's definitely no quieter at all.

I don't really find it quiet in any way, before buying I'd read it's "whisper quiet" so many times lol, not my experience!

It is all normal for 25l model(I have one downstairs), that's how they work. And have 12l model upstairs, which is quieter a lot, but still can be heard at night. So I play like this: the one downstairs is always on and can't be heard at night when we sleep upstairs, where 12l one is on at daytime only. This way, humidity is at 42-47% in the house and I am happy with that.
