Heat pump tumble dryer to drain connection

What connector do I need to connect my smaller tumble dryer hose to the 22mm waste pipe?

I've attached photos for reference: 1drv.ms/u/s…WEB

Moved into a new house. Previous owner disconnected their washer and dryer. Am struggling to get our new ones connected and have a sick baby and mounting clothes.

Thank you in advance for any help

Finally got it sorted... 2 trips to the builders merchants and multiple incorrectly purchased items.

In the end I used Xavax 00111894 111894 Drain Hose, Grey amazon.co.uk/dp/…5CQ

The original dryer cose connected to the new hose with a one way valve in the middle. The new hose then connected to the dryer spout. The washing machine connected to the washer spout. The compression fitting end was pushed straight on to the soil coming out the waste pipe ( I realised I could take out the t connected as it was just pushed to the waste connector.

I locked in all joints with jubilee clips and also a little bit of solvent glue on the waste pipe connection to the compression joint end of the new fitting to help it stay together *though it was jammed on tight).
1 test run of washer then drying and kept together will try a couple of wahes before I tidy up..
    Fingers crossed.

Thanks all for the advice. The koi pond adapter arrived tomorrow buy hopefully I won't need it.

Go to a local aquarium store and buy a 1inch rubber boot connector. Or you can order it from eBay. This will allow you to connect the grey pipe direct to the white pipe. Or if you are a bit practical just a rubber hose with 2 hose clips will do the trick from a old car or something.

You could also just put that grey pipe into a bucket or sink if it's long enough and use the machine by just emptying the bucket on each wash.

The above would also do the trick.
The 21.5 adaptor solvent glued to the white pipe. Then that would fit into one side of the straight coupler. Then the other washing connection with the white adaptor would fit straight into the Other end. You would need solvent glue to glue the first fitting.

Good luck any issues just update the thread.

Thank you for the quick responses.
I'm unsure how the joint connectors would work. One side would tighten onto the waste pipe but if I try to tighten the other side on the dryer hose it would just compress it and I don't think the hose adapter is wide enough to clamp to.

I like the idea of the 21.5mm to 32mm. I've never solvent glued. Shame there this is no compression joint. On the other end where I have to connect to the dryer pipe do i solvent glue the adapter to the dryer pipe or is there a 32mm compression coupler that I can lock the adapter in to?

Can I add this on the straight coupling to attach the now 32mm pipe and the dryer hose adapter?

Also, is there any chance of washing machine water backflowing into the dryer?

    Thanks again

Also wondering if this might be an alternative, simpler option:

    amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1
Connected to dryer hose without adapter (clipped).

Other side connected to new hose 10mm (dryer size) to 22mm (washing machine size). This new hose connected to the 22mm waste pipe. Does such a convertor hose exist?? Any pointers?

Yes this would connect straight to the fitting you currently have. The nut would go on before then the rubber seal would go around the fitting then it's simply tightened into the straight joint making its a tight seal. Also solvent weld is straight forward. Simply a matter of cleaning the pipe and just gluing the 2 joints together no more difficult then that.

You would still need a rubber hose to clamp from the end of this joint to the white pipe. As the white PVC pipe is rigid.

Do you have a trap between your connection point and the drain outlet, if not you'd need to plumb the dryer in via a trap to stop smells from the drain, eg with an appliance connector on the end. (edited)

Not sure if there is a trap. The remaining pipe work is behind cabinets in a utility room so unacceptable. There is a bit of a draft from the pipe though, so maybe no trap. Can't easily change other plumbing at present.

Yea, are there any hoses that convert from the small dryer drain to a large washer drain size?

What would the 16mm end fit into? Seems to big for the rubber dryer hose and too small for the adapter with the hose.

Could a simple fix be to change the hose on the dryer to a standard 21mm washing machine hose? screwfix.com/p/w…062 Videos on youtube on how to change the hose on washing machines.

The dryer hose outlet and hose are smaller so a normal washing machine hose won't fit without some adapter

Measure the grey hose diameter and buy the correct size that would go over the grey hose and you can clamp it with a hose clamp. If the hose is to soft then use a inset. I would suggest cutting the current fitting you have already inserted in the grey hose and this would be sufficient to stop the pipe crushing if you was to clamp the fitting.

This drove me BONKERS for ages (especially as the Beko heat pump drain has a 10mm pipe which was too big for some of the pre-made Spigot connectors). A lot of other machines are 8mm which fits this one (the 10mm doesn't):

    amazon.co.uk/DL-…efc

So... Ref the images attached... I bought one of these in the end:

    advancedfluidsolutions.co.uk/pp-…asp

I also had a dual spigot connector on my drain (you can buy these from Toolstation/Screwfix) and I cut off the push on bit leaving only the screw thread part which is 3/4 BSP measurement. Sanded it off to make sure it wasn't sharp then that screws onto the 3/4 BSP thread on the adapter perfectly. The adapter also comes with a rubber washer for the screw on part so its nice and water tight. The 10mm Tumble rubber drain plug fits over the adapter snugly too. I put on a clamp just for peace of mind. Tested and there are no leaks even when the separate washing machine empties or the sink is drained from above. (edited)
