Travelodge breakfast vs Premier Inn breakfast?

I plan to stay at a Travelodge and originally booked breakfast there also, however several people have said that the breakfast is really bad.

I've had Premier Inn breakfast before and it was alright and I expected Travelodge to be of similar quality but I'm hearing this is not the case. I just wanted to see if it is the general opinion that Travelodge breakfast is a step down from Premier Inn?

Premier Inn breakfast is great and easily worth the £11 as that includes coffee and juice, cooked breakfast and pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt plus cereal.

I've paid a lot more for just the cooked breakfast elsewhere and it was worse.

Look up reviews of the specific travellodge and premier inn that you're considering. I think the quality does vary depending on the individual hotel. Both will likely be acceptable but I would rather eat elsewhere if possible (edited)

Some Travelodge have a breakfast box rather than a full cooked buffet, and it is dire. Their cooked breakfast is pretty decent and comparable to Premier Inn but the latter is my favourite as the sausage is good quality

I literally stayed over the weekend and personally will say that the Premier Inn breakfast is 1000% better than the Travelodge one, BUT don't forget that it could depend on the location.

Premier inn is a clear winner. Much better breakfast.

I have had both. I would never ever have a cooked travel lodge breakfast again. It was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten; it wasn’t even edible.

I did a search on YouTube to see if I could find someone reviewing it and sadly it does look poor. Annoying as I'll need to find somewhere else to eat, where it would be much more convenient to just eat at the hotel but no point paying money to nibble a few bits of toast.

I've only stayed at a Travelodge once, and the dining area seemed very limited- it looked more like a student canteen, with vending machines and a small serving area. I didn't use it as I had to leave at about 5am.

I've had both and I'd say premier inn is far superior. They actually cooked food to order rather than it being buffet style.

I've had breakfast from both hotels & rate both of them good.

It depends on location quite often. My local premier inn is brewers fayre and does a surprisingly good Sunday dinner. Breakfast is always decent there too.

However I have had breakfast at another brewers fayre and it was horrible

My local travelodge and premier inn have same menu so I guess owned by the same people

Nope different companies, Premier Inn is owned by Whitbread (who own Beefeater and Brewer Fayre restaurants), Travelodge is owned by an asset management company.

Menus likely similar just because they compete with each other so would offer similar breakfasts.

Premier inn far superior to a travelodge breakfast (cooked one from a bar cafe not the breakfast in a box)
If I book a travelodge then I would generally pop next door to the premier inn for breakfast. You can even book it if you think it will be busy. Anyone can have a breakfast at either without being a guest.
Don’t forget up to 2 kids also eat for free for every paying adult at around £10.

Travelodge Micklegate York was a good breakfast when i went there last year (went to York central (no cafe) in previous years and went to Weatherspoons next door). Also the Premiere Inn breakfasts i have had are good. May be down to individual Travelodge (that has a cafe)
