A little workaround really, i wasn't aware (maybe forgotten) and i guess many/some others aren't. There's no need to have a hotel booking to take up their offers on breakfast, which are from £8.99 BUT two kids eat free plus you get UnlimitedLavazza coffee (Among other drinks)

Can you get a Travelodge breakfast without staying at the hotel?

Yes, Travelodge welcomes 'walk-in' guests for breakfast or dinners in the hotel restaurant. Simply present yourself to reception and you will be directed to the restaurant where staff will arrange to take payment for your meal and show you to a table.

Premier Inn do the same deal@ £9.99 for hot breakfast and £7.99 for continental, with Costa coffee, but I think their spread is better. Used it quite a lot when the kids were younger. When I stayed at Travelodge, breakfast there wasn't inspiring, but that over 10 years ago, hopefully they are much better. (edited)

Includes 2 children per adult and is a £1 dearer and much better and is a constant price no promotional. Added breakfast a couple of times at travelodge and regretted both times

I've been doing this for years with the kids at Premier inn and occasionally go in on my own too. Fry ups in greasy spoon cafes are no longer cheap and a cup of coffee is £3plus everywhere. So this is great as its buffet and the surroundings are clean and pleasant.

Just to note Travelodge do scrambled eggs and not fried. Premier Inn the other way round. At least at the ones I've been to.

I’m in travel lodge Covent Garden at the moment and the food is awful please don’t pay for food at any travelogue just go out and eat

I was there 2 days ago. The food wasn't great, but it's not too dissimilar to other Travelodges. Ultimately, it's a Travelodge, you can't really go in with high expectations. (edited)

It's a good deal if you can make the most of it, normally the wife ruins it by insisting on having a breakfast alongside myself and the 2 kids.

Not sure why someone keeps insisting that Premier Inn doesn't let you have two free kids

    premierinn.com/gb/…tml

Seems to say so here and they certainly did last time I went in (sometimes just take the kids if I'm on my own with them, can't really fault it for a tenner for me and a couple of kids that can trough).

Would suggest that the Premier Inn was quite a bit better tbh, if you have a choice like. If you're staying in a Travelodge, it's perfectly decent. Not sure I'd walk in.

thats exactly what I say to the Mrs when she decides to tag along.

Me and the kids go anytime they want a fry up breakfast. One likes sausages, beans, fried egg, hash browns. The other Bacon, poached egg toast. They often want a different juice. Then one likes fruit after whilst the other likes pancakes/muffin.

By the time I've bought and made all that, I've spent more than £9.99. So may aswell just go out and eat it.

Also the one local to us is a new Beefeater, so actually pretty nice. If its not a busy period, they wont do the buffet and cook to order then serve to the table. They'll also do that on request even if there is a buffet, but I don't bother.

The coffee is ok, but its out of a machine. But for £9.99 its excellent value and pretty good quality. Apparently they used to do BLC discount on top (edited)

Difference between this and Premier Inn is quite big. This is restricted to those Travelodges with cafes inside, not at the adjoining restaurant (my local uses Wehterspoons).
Premier Inn is unrestricted, also two free kids and good value in my opinion at £9.99. Also do Veggie sausage and GF toast on request which helps us. Worth the extra pound or two.

Agree with everyone here. Had breakfast in the Glasgow Travelodge and it was horrible. Maybe I expected it to be more like the Premier Inn one. Would do the Premier Inn one again, wouldn't bother with the Travelodge one.

An unlimited amount cooked meal for 3 persons who might be struggling financially? Good deal. For £9 it may well be rubbish tasting food, but it will be good enough for many who can only afford it.
    lanc1979's avatar
True but in your single parent, two kids scenario, only £1 extra for better food, more locations etc.

Lavazza, the horrible knock off of Illy?
    davew2011's avatar
    No.

lavazza was founded in 1895 and illy around 50 years later. Lavazza beans are not horrible nor poor quality .
Maybe illy ‘knocked off ‘ lavazza 100 years ago, but I’m guessing you’re just more familiar with illy as a brand and made an assumption .
I’m not disputing that illy have got the edge on quality/taste, but it’s certainly not a ‘horrible knock off’ - also an amazing detail to pickup on on a budget travel lodge breakfast deal.
I too would prefer my 3% meat, grease bag, sausages paired with the delicate flavour profile of illy coffee … (edited)

Considering the price paid at restaurants these days I think this is a great deal!
  13. jayzone1998's avatar
It say's starts from 8.99, does anyone know what is covered by this price and the other prices?
  14. OsamaBeenSaven's avatar
Always funny asked the Premier in staff for 14 vegan sausages for myself, and another 4 for the missus.
  15. Shimmasok's avatar
Interesting, I've been told you can't do that before when I tried to walk in around a year ago

Those sausages look very much like economy sausages in the promotional photos!

What does the actual sausage look like?!
    jig2480's avatar
By the sounds of your description I guess they will still look very much like economy sausages in promotional photos. But they taste ok

Used this yesterday at Travelodge Liverpool Airport. Saying this, we stayed overnight. My kids never had a bigger breakfast.

I travel for work and have stayed in many of these from Inverness to Selsey. Rooms are acceptable for a night stop over, breakfasts are always undercooked, fatty bacon is a turn off for me and shows the effort that goes into the rest offered.

We did this the other week. Decent value, but better to get there early to avoid the chaos of parents pandering to their kids, especially on a Sunday, crowding up some areas making everything take an age to do.

Cheap for a reason. The food is terrible.
