Moto g73 update at 1am help

Hi.
A relative has a new Moto g73 and it updates at 1am so the reboot makes a noise... Hello Moto... This wakes them up. They also use the alarm so it's easy to tap the do not disturb button but will that silence the alarm?
I need to tell them over the phone how to stop or fix this, but I don't want to drive the 30 mile round trip tonight if I can avoid.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Settings > Sound & vibration > Tap Advanced > Then, toggle off Power on sounds.

Is there not an option in the sound settings to disable the boot sound?

I’d be surprised if there wasn’t also an option in the update menu to disable auto updates too so you can manually do them while awake.

In any case, muting all sound on your phone doesn’t mute the alarms so it should still go off.

Think I need to talk her through turning off updates then..

And add a notification on calendar to remind her to check update manually every 3 months until Jan 2026.

"..it's easy to tap the do not disturb button but will that silence the alarm?"

Why not test this do not disturb feature during the daytime (eg 5pm) by setting the alarm for 5.01pm?

Because I can't talk her through setting up an alarm test.
Trying to find a simple solution until the weekend when we visit

Just to add - if they long-press the Do Not Disturb button they should be able to configure what can and cannot override it - including alarms, calls from starred contacts etc - and also set a schedule so they don't even need to press the button every day.

Just to add you can use Google meet app to view what on their phone screen if you do a video call, saves me ages with my Dad now

    Update.
    Sorted.
Had a few problems though. I phoned on landline but was diverted to local insurance company? Seems she had call diversion activated. How did that happen? Ha
Took half an hour to talk her through turning the call diversion off on landline. Then I phoned her the landline and got through so was able to talk her through turning updates off on the mobile. I watched a YouTube guide while I guided her so I could see what was needed to be done.
Took just over an hour in total!
I'm exhausted. Saved the drive over though. (edited)
