Does anyone know what happens when you are on Octopus Tracker when the gas & electric costs go sky high over winter?

    Serious question

IT also depends where you live - the price per unit won't be the same for someone in Southampton compared to someone in Wick. Even if they use the same supplier.

There's not really a 'cheapest' option these days. The price cap is still in place to set the pricing for most of us. A few providers are bringing back fixed rate deals but many of them are either going to save you just a few pounds, or may even cost you more just to give price certainty.

I'm personally with SO Energy and have been since they were operating under their original name of ESB Energy (The big name for energy over in Ireland) - I got my latest fixed tariff through Uswitch and customer service were happy to offer it to me as an existing customer. Support has been good, and when I asked for a new smart meter to replace an old SMETS1 Model they had someone out in just over a week so I am happy enough with them.

As for E.On, remember that the current company that all customers were moved to - E.On Next is actually just a rebrand of NPower. So I am sure you now see why they suck.

If you join octopus, their agile and tracker tariffs are much cheaper than standard

Utility Warehouse will be cheapest if you take 3 services(Energy, Broadband, Sim) with them.
