Stumble upon this 30W portable solar panel charger. Comes with dual port: 1x USB-C and 1x USB-A. Seems like a good deal to me for a portable solar panel. Mixed review over the web but for this price, worth a try for a beginner camper.

Have this exact model, it's very well-made but despite the size, like most of these portable panels, doesn't seem to output much power in moderate or even direct sunlight - I left my phone attached outside in the sun while I was doing some stuff in the garden and initially it drained the battery a few percent but by the end was up only around 4% above where it started in 35 minutes. At which point, as someone else said, a power bank is probably more sensible, cost efficient and less infuriating.

Disclaimer, I got mine for £24 at a local pawnbrokers - I like the idea of solar, but I would have been very annoyed if I'd paid £52 or the full £69.99 for it. (edited)

Do you think it would it be any good for charging a power bank for when there is no other option to charge the power bank?
    i.e. off grid camping.

    Would this charge a tesla?

Say you got 20w at best from the panel, it would take 50 solid hours of sun to make 1kw. If your battery is say 60kw, then that's 125 days to charge...that's assuming 24 hours sun though so it would be around 3-4 times longer than that.

....and most EVs need a min charge of 1.4kw to start charging...so nope, this won't work!! (edited)

Really want to try one if these, saw the ones that come with the bluetti and anker power hubs. Question, would these rely on a attached device to have something like overcharge protection? Or does this have software built in.

It outputs power, it does not run software. In almost all circumstances these are completely useless and people would be better off spending £52.99 buying a power bank and a charger.

    Seems utterly pointless.

Bigger and more expensive than a power bank and requires a very sunny day (in Britain) for any hope of any charge. Perhaps this is good if you simultaneously won't have access to a plug socket for the next week but do have £53 to throw away on a 30w solar panel.

True. And if there was a nuclear fallout scenario, there'd be thicker clouds in the atmosphere anyway.

looking for a good off-grid solar system for a shed that allows usb power banks, any suggestions from experience?

A 100w/200w solar panel, controller and battery will cost you a lot more than this but you would be able to generate, store and run all your 12v devices.

Not heating, only 30w at 5V is very low, I paid (a few years back) 40 something for a 40W
