Unfortunately it will be hal al so we shouldn't really be encouraging … Unfortunately it will be hal al so we shouldn't really be encouraging unnecessary animal cruelty by buying it.Its bad enough not being able to avoid it on the rare occasions that I want a takeaway or want to go to an Indian restaurant, but there is no way I would ever buy it to cook at home

so youre a vegetarian, there is no form of slaughter that is humane if the individuals doing the culling are inhumane. plenty examples of animal abuse in nonnhalal abbatoirs.

and of course youre against kosher, thats despite german research stating that halal is more humane than stunning.

Haha, if you think it has no added water, then I have some magical beans you might be interested in buying. Proper chicken breast, with no added water, and no steroids or anti biotics fed to the bird, will cost you around £7-£8 per kilo.

True it is halal, but that doesn't bother me. Having worked in a slaughter house as a summer job (barnes/slingers) when I was a student college, I can tell you halal is no worse than a lot of traditional methods I saw.
If you really want to be nice to chickens don't eat them!
Anyway £10 for 3 kilo compare that to the supermarket prices and it is less than half price!

Definitely not a vegetarian but I don't believe in treating animals cruelly unnecessarily, especially just because its a tradition dating back to when they didn't have the modern more humane methods of slaughter we now have.

If slitting the throat without prior stunning was a quicker and less painful way to kill anything then wouldn't the USA use that method to execute convicted murderers instead of a lethal injection or the electric chair ?

Does it matter how it's killed. It's 'murder' either way. This site isn't for arguing about what's the right and wrong way to do things, it's about posting cheap deals. If you don't like the look of the deal, don't open it. The person posting the deal has done his job and posted a hot deal. Move on!

I am pretty sure farmfoods do 3 kg of chicken breasts for £10.

Hopefully someone will be able to verify this.

Occasionally, but it's an offer price, their usual three bags for a tenner.

They do. It has been £10 for at least 6-9 months now, but that is frozen. Still looking for confirmation from the OP whether this is fresh chicken breast or not. Darn good price if this is fresh breast meat with no added water and additives. I'll need to check a few local butchers and Asian supermarkets up our way to see if a similar price can be had.

I don't understand what this has to the deal? If you do not want to buy halal meat, this deal is not applicable to you therefore you need not comment on unlawful killing (which halal butchers will argue it is not inhumane).
This deal is good for those who eat halal meat for religious reasons or after a cheap meat deal, not for people like yourselves who are bashing people for eating meat based on how it was slaughtered. Why not fight an actual animal cruelty cause such as the animals who are abused in the supermarket system and are kept in awful unlawful conditions

Become a vegetarian like me then there's no facile arguments on the best way to kill a chicken and all the chickens can go free. There is no beating the path of non-violence.

In reply to a previous comment yes it's fresh chicken. In reply to the guy who posted poor quality, does he know the store, or is that just a off the cuff comment. I have been buying chicken there for over a year and have been impressed with the quality. I have no affiliation with the store but thought this might be useful for anyone nearby.

the quality is generally better from asian shops than from the main supermarkets, but theres no telling some.

I used to live next door to a Halal meet processor, the meat from their shop front was generally better than supermarket meat. Never detected added water. I'd say hot. Unless you're a veggie or a racist!

I smell far more racism here than deal crunching. Why don't we just leave that to the sun and express. The deal is a great one. You'd be shelling out £18 for the same up here in scotland. As for his price, I reckon he's using it as a loss leader to get people through his doors during Ramadan and buying lots of other stuff where he can actually make money. It's called business kids!!
