I've had this exact set for two years now, and have stripped back/maintained a large, mature, overgrown garden.

The strimmer is fantastic, the brush cutter is lethal (in a good way, but be careful!), the hedge trimmer is good but you really need to have a bit of strength to use it when at full extension.

The polesaw (chainsaw) has been the most useful for me. It's excellent and I find it safer to use than my regular chainsaws as the action is much further from you. You can get replacement chains on Amazon for cheap.

It's a reliable and sturdy piece of kit, and easy to maintain (SGS sell spare parts for super cheap, for almost every individual component).

Grab some oil from Toolstation for the chainsaw, it drinks quite a lot and you'll need to keep it topped up. Buy a proper forestry helmet (with ear defenders and mesh face guard) for £10 while you are there...the brush cutter and polesaw could easily kick something up that will happily rip your face off.

Finally...it goes without saying, it's noisy. It's near trade levels of power, and as a result it is not the kind of tool you will get away using for long on a nice summer's morning/evening. This is very much for tough garden work, rather than a little bit of tidying after you've cut the grass - grab an electric set instead if that's the case.

Where are you getting a proper forestry helmet for £10 from please?

Got one of these for a family member a couple of back. Found it to be a decent bit of kit. Had a problem with it at one point and SGS fixed the issue no bother.

Looks like Titan model that’s available from Screwfix, only difference is the coloured moulding

This is a 4 in 1 with an extension pole. Calling it a 5 in 1 is silly

Lidl have these for similar money, they're all basically the same. I bought this one maybe two years ago, I brok ethe pull code on it the other day and I'm struggling to find a replacement pullcode unit, as the original ones spring went boing and I wasn't able to put it back together. The tensioning unit on the pole saw is a little crap, it's mostly plastic bar the tensioning screw itself and the nuts. It's grand when it was working.

If it's the same unit, try SGS, as they sell spares for every component and it's all very cheap.

These are terrible. Heavy, cumbersome, unreliable and the service from SGS is terrible. The starter motor assembly broke on mine. The mechanism locked up. I called to get a replacement under the warranty. They said that the mechanism was a consumable and tried to charge me £45 plus vat for the part. Had a massive argument that went back and forth and they sent it in the end for the delivery fee of £5. Anything mechanical should be under the warranty. Anyway the thing was always breaking. I sold it in the end and was so glad to get shut of it. Beware this tool and the SGS service

This looks exactly like the Hyundai one they sell for £199.00 (edited)

Led to believe Hyundai are rebadged sgs. In this anyway.

These are all very similar just different branding and colours for different retailers.
I have previously bought this and other equipment from SGS,
However , I would avoid this retailer as they do not honour the warranty.
They will make any excuse to get you to pay for post and repair.

I would suggest wait and order from anywhere but this retailer. Lidl and Aldi will also be doing these.

£144 ATM from eBay, for a very similar generic one

I've gone for that one, I've used one maybe 6 years now and it's rock solid. Spent a few days effing and jeffing at it last summer as it wouldn't work. Seals had failed, replaced them and it's been faultless since. Bought the basic one, and I've only the blade attachment left. Blades well past it, and vibrates the machine too much. Looked at getting a new blade, chainsaw bit, hedge bit, pretty much same difference to buy a new one.
As others have said, this is powerful, the blade will accelerate any stones or other detritus it catches to easily reach window breaking speed. Boots, trousers and check the area for stones before using that bad boy blade are all pretty essential in my experience.

Can i ask why you went for the linked one instead of the SGS one? Cheers

Looks very similar to the handy one I got from wickes for £50 a few years ago, only issue I had was the fuel pipes rotting but I put that down to the new e10 fuel, since then I’ve used premium in the gardening equipment and had no issues

I had to replace some seals on mine, got something daft like five of all the bits I needed for a few quid on amazon. These go under a few names / colours so plenty of spares knocking about.

bought this set from SGS about 5 years ago, proper english user manual, excellent bit of kit for the money. Honestly wouldn't be using chainsaw attachment very often but strimmer, hedge cutter both excellent. I have found it easy to start year on year. Had to lend it to bro in law when his uber expensive Stihl set up wouldn't run and felt a bit smug about that. No it's not Stihl nor Husky, I have chainsaws from both manufactureres and both excellent but this kind of money.... No worrries

Once you understand how bits are swapped around you'll love this. Have had mine almost 10 years and it's still going strong.
Support can be a bit of hit or miss, but wouldn't deter me from buying another.
PS buy stronger cord as mine was constantly breaking.

Just what I have been looking for! Cheers!
