This is cheapest seen this £135.99 on Amazon. Great kit for work or home.

I have this as well as the impact driver, reciprocating saw and drill all 10.8v. I also have all the 18v kit. The 10.8v stuff gets used twice as much as the 18v. You wouldn’t buy this over an 18v drill but if you have the 18v already these are the perfect tool to undo and tighten screws or bolts.

Hence why I’d pay the extra... a more powerful motor and a machine that will screwdrive, drill and hammer drill

It's a screw driver not a combi drill. Depends what you need it for

Spend a bit more and get a proper 18v model that will drill too?

If you already have batteries and charger you can get the bare tool for £99.95 from D&M, or £95.95 or even less from Planet Tools Probably plus post, don't know - D&M are 200 yards from me.

Yeah. Because Amazon marketplace sellers get stuffed for fees. They have to sell for more else they don't make a profit. Plain and simple.

£180 now

logohigh plus real sander

Really want this however not sure when I’ll actually get £160 of use out of it. Paying for a decent impact driver for me has been worth every penny because it’s used on almost every DIY job. But not sure how often this would be used. Any ideas would be appreciated!! (I already have an orbital sander so wouldn’t use this in it’s place)

Ordered yesterday, delivered 22hrs later. Decent little box and magnetic attachment.

This is not a genuine DeWalt item, just crossed referenced it with their database

Well I certainly learn a lot from a lot of experienced people here. I love it. Ultimately you have to make up your own mind, but you'll have a much much better starting point than you otherwise would.

Discussions on tools are great! "This is the best," "no this is the best and here's why," "yeah well I've been using these for years and they have no equal" and so on and so on. 😁

DeWalt-DCD795S1-GB-18V-1-5Ah-Li-ion-Brushless-Combi-Drill - £87.30 @ Wickes
Refreshed 17th JunRefreshed 17th Jun
Great price for a great drill, smaller battery size, cant find anywhere as cheap as this. All metal construction. Brushless gets good reviews 2% quidco too

I presume the difference is that you have a combi drill, and the driver you used from your brother is an "Impact driver", similar look, different tool. you can use the torque setting to avoid rounding off screws, or/and using a low speed, but still won't be nearly as good as a driver

ohh brushless the new selling point, I work in trade and can't understand the reason why anyone would want this technology in a drill, the issue with replacing brushes is nonsense, I work in construction and we had a "brushed" Bosch for 2 years, daily use and no brush replacement ever needeed, and if it would need to be done, it's like a 5 minutes job

Cheers I'll give some decent ones a try.

I find quality screws make a massive difference too

Been on the hunt for a reliable combi drill or possible hammer drill/impact driver kit. This seemed a fair price. Still looking though.

Generally I'm a massive fan of the Dewalt brushless kit, and will be a hot vote from me, especially for the P2 as it happens, but am I the only one that bugged by the design on these newer 700 series of compact combi drill-drivers?? I find that since they started these newer designs a couple of years ago the trigger guard or yellow piece above the trigger is always right in the way of the hand that is trying to turn the torque/drill/hammer-drill selector dial, as in you wrap your left hand around the torque wheel and promptly catch your thumb or finger depending on which way you rotate it . I find it so annoying I've missed out the 7 series of compacts and stuck with my 995 and then an impact driver ... Just an observation I just wondered if it was just me or others agree?

P1=1x5Ah ,P2=2x5Ah

I've got this & a damn fine drill it is :) Deal link not working, direct link is here:

Good Price for the P1, similar on eBay. Not sure about the difference but the P2 is £204 here:

Just bought this from anglia tool centre. Similar price after 10% online code. It was the cheapest i could find after a week or so of looking. Superb drill aswell. Plenty of power for most jobs

Dropped by another fiver :) edited original post. Hope it helps someone.

Mine arrived monday via UPS. No drama. Unfortunately the battery was missing. Rand up office, spoke to lady who put me on hold whilst she rung the depot which sent it out. 2 minutes later she apologised and i formed me they had sent the wrong unit (just minus battery) and informed me a battery had been despatched. Minutes later i got email with tracking info and battery arrived next day no issue. 1000% would use these again no bother.

thanks - good to know

Well mine came today no dramas, ordered Sunday, confirmed on Monday, arrived today. Everything was present. Deffo use this retailer again :)

Which size batons can you use when placing them between the joints on the saw horses

Supposedly the clips on the Stanley where they connect, can be quite poor. I'd ideally like metal clips that connect them together once closed. Not sure if the dewalt ones do that tho.

The toughbuilt are a good bit of kit but I went for the DeWalt as they are a bit higher so I don't have to bend down so much, if they were the same height I would of deffo gone for them

I use two of these (C650s), fantastic quality bits of kit.

They look decent but I'd be inclined to get a pair of Toughbuilt C550's for the same money (or C300's for less).

This is a good deal, I've used these and the Dewalt Extreme2 which are around £9 - for lighter tasks I used these and for harder walls/bricks etc I use the dearer ones.

As I said, there’s bigger and better out there. What can you get for 3 quid these days tho? :/

Oooh good find. Thats a good price also and agree its a much better set

These would be a better bet for most: (Hope the link works as I’m using the app) Yes they’re a little more expensive at a fiver, but the sizes are more useful if you’re drilling holes for plugs etc round the house. And they’ll also cut through material much faster, reducing the time it takes to get the job done (and saving your battery too). And they’ll go through wood as well, so you don’t need to buy another set of bits for that as well. Very handy to keep in your toolbox as they don’t add a lot of weight but will cover most jobs. Note that the Bosch set of multi-purpose bits that Screwfix have are slightly better IMO, but they’re more expensive again and for only 4 bits so not as much of a deal for the DIYer.

I've found out I can also get this dewalt drill for £80 as a family member has said she can get me 20% employee discount. I'm still torn though as the stanley appears to be the more powerful drill.

I've got the Stanley and dewalt 18v drills, the Stanley drill is a very good drill for the price (£79 I paid with 2 batteries year or so ago) Only reason I'd pick the dewalt over this is that you get a more varied selection of bare units to take advantage of the second battery

Anyone got any good deals on the XR batteries? I've got the driver and a similar drill plus a few others bits of the dewalt xr kit (all excellent by the way) but I could do with a few more batteries, I don't mind whether they are 4/5Ah or the smaller 1.5/2Ah (I'll just get mor can always charge one while using one)

IMO, I would suggest getting at least a hammer drill i.e. the "combi-drill" mentioned by others here. That is a great deal. Although the 1.5Ah battery is a limitation, if it's just small jobs like putting up a shelf then it should do the job. Main point is at £97 you will never see anything as well made as that metal-gear unit when you walk into B&Q The OP offer for a basic driver and impact driver is a well made product, but as I understand it there is only an appeal in these sets for those who want a mountain of tools, perhaps a real builder/carpenter, for me doing DIY these sets are silly. The impact driver and a combi-drill can do most things, whereas with this set you still need to buy a hammer drill for any masonry work

Great price for this kit. Powerful impact wrench and cordless grinder in a TOUGHSYSTEM Tool Box.

I can recommend the impact wrench, used it recently to do some suspension work on the car and nothing got in its way. If this offer had been on when I bought mine I'd have gone for it. I paid just over £200 for the impact wrench, one 5.0Ah battery and a charger, £150 for another battery, the case and the grinder is a decent deal.

This is a very good price. I am tempted but need a new jigsaw rather than a impact wrench.

Maybe something like this: Great price OP (y)
