buying a 500 pound plus gpu for gaming is dumb, get a 3060 ti and every game will run perfectly fine

As long as it wasn't made during this decade - the above statement is true. For anyone else. Please don't listen to this guy with no experience of modern day games

Word of warning for anyone thinking of selling the Starfield code. I don't think you can.

I'm keeping mine and to I had to install and software to confirm I actually owned the card in the offer. Not got my code yet but not sure what hoops I'll need to jump through again once I can claim it.

Also, amazing card! I went from a 3080 FE and this thing is silent in comparison to that.

You will never get the actual game code
After you've verified the hardware and the game is launched - you get a notification that you can claim the game. You log in with your details to AMD Rewards and click 'claim' this takes you to Steam log in page, after you enter the Steam details, the game is then in your library. You can potentially sell it by giving someone your login details to Amd rewards (like set up AMD rewards with a brand new email) . I gifted my Calisto Protocol to my mate who has nvidia card. Logged into amd rewards on my mobile after the game was ready to claim and he entered his Steam details - Voila. (edited)

AMD drivers and stability on their GPUs is terrible.

My 7900XT has been perfectly stable. No driver issues here. I too was a non-believer when I had a string of Nvidia cards until now. (edited)

Great card I got this a few months back after decades of high end Nvidia use will never look back well worth it long term also. In light of silicone and capacitor shortages and politics only AMD has giving value and plenty of VRAM and better R&D. The software and drivers are also way better despite the fake news.

Adrenalin is good, but I have never experienced so many crashes as I have since I got a 6950XT a month or so ago.

Imo best deal of this generation currently, although I prefer the look of the MBA card

Ngreedia, with the crafty knack of overpricing their gilded trinkets, milking the poor townsfolk to an absolute pittance! Oh, the villainy! And yet, the townsfolk are as moths to a flame, drawn in by the flashy gizmos. Now, to AMD and their dubious contraption, the 7900XT. They peddle it with such audacious confidence, it's almost commendable! A lesser price, yet for a bauble that barely flickers with promise. The audacity, the sheer gall of it! Oh, the townsfolk, those starry-eyed simpletons, yearning for both performance and frugality. Will their pleas ever pierce the golden ceilings of these two tech behemoths? One does wish they'd have a better grasp on their hard-earned doubloons.

Voted hot by the way great price

Don’t know why this is cold. It’s the best price for this card at this moment in time.

better buy now before we get cripto crazy v2, aka AI GPU boom.....
    Nick_Manhota's avatar
Don't worry amd has very poor ai engine compared to ngreedia, amd will get cheaper for gamers.
  10. eddy64's avatar
its is the premium edition of starfield you get or at least it was for me last week.
  11. Superion's avatar
Expired, was just about to order the XTX when I realised the price had gone up.
  12. Somersett's avatar
No- it is NOT a good price. Mid to high end GPUs are all massively over-priced at this time, thanks to Ngreedia, and AMDs lack of interest in building PC gaming GPU share. AMD is busy building next year's APUs and SoC (processor and graphics) for 2024 Xmas Xbox and PS5 ENHANCED consoles. It cares not for non-low end PC gaming.

The 7900XT has improving gaming performance, compared to Ngreedia (Ngreedia GPUs are VERY weak on real rasterisation - a growing problem now than Unreal 5 is taking over). But it uses far too much power. The main GPU chiplet should have used a much bigger die.
    Error_404's avatar
Low-end pc's can't compete with PS5 or Xbox, No point in building a gaming pc now on budget. Mid to high-end gaming pc's are only worth it, Gpu's have more uses now and likely will not be going down much more in price. Who wants to spend around £400 on gpu that can't beat modern console?
  13. Solee's avatar
No getting around it, this is a good price. Wish I could use AMD rather stuck with nvidia.
    EugeneVictorTooms's avatar
How come you're stuck? I'd only ever used nvidia until the gtx 1070, moved from that to the 5700 xt and have not looked back. (edited)
  14. ibelongtoacjimbo_'s avatar
Thanks for this op was too late to it last time. I may live to regret this but I suspect the price and and performance of the incoming 7800xt I was waiting for will be poor.
Seems like the ai boom may well start taking a chunk of gfx cards out of the market for gamers in a lesser way that crypto did.
    Nick_Manhota's avatar
    Amd has poor ai engine.
  15. Britpix's avatar
Good price but waiting until the next-gen as my 3080Ti is more than fast enough barring possible issues with VRAM coming in the future.
  16. ha03274's avatar
Great price imo, thanks OP…very tempted to buy

After considering this all weekend they've just lost an order because of that.

Thought maybe they'd have learnt in the interim since they encouraged racist abuse on their forums (10 years ago but still). With that and price gouging during lockdown I've never actually bought anything from them. I'd rather fund Bezos' next rocket. It could always crash after all. (edited)

You can vertically mount the card and it would look awesome

I never understand the point of this, it just damages the cooling of the pc, throws very hot air at the motherboard causing it to heat up and makes the gpu hotter.

Save yourself £300 odd pounds and get this. The difference at 4K is 15% performance or FPS. You can overclock the XT using the lovely AMD Adrenalin software to close the gap to 10%. I think I would accept that due to the saving. Both great cards and plenty of vram. (edited)

Would it be worth a £100 upgrade to an XTX? We can get the Asus (I know) TUF XTX model for £800 through a work scheme we have with them.

    Coming from a 1080.
    MrBeginner's avatar

Yes without a doubt. Go for that instead if it’s £100 more.
