TOO LATE !
Voted hot even though I'll be signing up for the £40 student deal in a couple of days. Prime has been good to me these last few months.
Cheaper to get an NUS card and just pay £40 a year for student Prime, plus get 5% off orders.
Do Prime members get some items cheaper?

Yes

Yes

Many items cheaper of usually stuff we don't need? Do you still need to spend min £20 for next day delivery?

Yes I believe it is £20 min spend for non prime member to get free 3-5 day delivery, prime members get one day delivery on most items sold by Amazon or fulfilled by Amazon.

Nice, so tempted to join now. I wonder if I can pay with from my Amazon Gift Card balance. If can that means it's even cheaper for me =)
Is it easy enough to cancel in the first year ? I think I read of a fee horror stories of folk having issues trying to cancel before they lost another £79

Can't say I've had any problems with canceling,in fact my Mrs did the 30 day trial and forgot to cancel, she got onto Amazon live chat a few days after they took the payment and explained she forgot to cancel, they said it wasn't a problem and gave her a full refund.

I did it for my Mum in law because she is a dong and went over her free trial period. Changed it to month by month then cancelled. Got an immediate full refund on both even though she had gone over. All online with no contact needed. I wouldn't believe horror stories about Amazon, just contact them, they will bend over backwards for you. I would not say the same about many other companies, I am in dispute 3 at the moment, 1 has just been resolved but 2 are pending. I ain't no pushover and have been waiting for this deal to come up, signed up and have already saved money by cancelling my pending order on another account lol
DAMN YOU, BIGGUNS.

Now I'll be buying even more HUKD tat.

That's why Amazon do well, no hidden tricks or anything. The total opposite of "Gourmet Society" who push trials and A) Hope you forget to cancel OR B) Have a ridiculous amount of time that you have to cancel a trial by. They take money about 2 weeks before the end of your trial. Joke. Won't refund you even though your trial ain't up! A pathetic company who have no morales or good business practise! I was a victim to B)! Sorry to compare two totally different services but this just highlights Amazon CS all over.

I accidentally signed up to Prime last year and cancelled straight away as I didn't want it then, would I still be classed as a "new" member and eligible for the discount now?
Why would anyone pay for prime. Had it 4 years now, never paid a penny.

I cancelled my Prime Membership 2 weeks ago - I just signed back up with the same email address for £59.

Thanks, this is a revelation to me. I was about to buy a second subscription for my girlfriend. No need for me to order stuff for her because I get the one day delivery.

i got an NUS card, how on earth does this work? I thought u had to have a uni address too?
If a subscription is due to expire in July, can you take advantage of this deal price and still use the rest of your existing subscription?

Not compared to other online retailers, never assume that you are getting a deal when they say you are. But of course probably just good calue if you use video on demand.

No, just register your card
All the streaming services on prime are good too. its worth getting a fire stick or fire tvbox to take advantage of these.

I'm not sure whether you are trying to be funny or you have been asleep for the last 6 years (being a student) but here is the link
I was on the £7.99 monthly subscription, but just been on chat and they cancelled this for me and provided me with a link to the offer. I'm now signed up for £59.

I'd just had my monthly payment taken, but this has been refunded.

Shame they've haven't also discounted the student membership further!
Great price and really is worth every penny, remember if you don't want something delivered as quick as possible you can opt for non prime free delivery and get £3 credit for Amazon digital
That is roughly £4.91 a month.

And you're getting access to prime delivery, prime now, prime video, photo storage, Kindle library and music.

Definitely worth it.

Isn't it usually £1 credit. I know round busy periods it can be £3.

Ah really? I didn't know that! I've always seen it at £3 must be lucky, I've never actually used it, too impatient! X)
