After a long wait to get a good standing desk frame I finally went with the Flexispot E8 yesterday for £299.99. Should I return the E8 and go with this one as this is 1/3 the price I paid. Is this any better?

I don’t have any experience of this desk or an E8, but I did purchase an E7 last May. At the time my thinking was it was better to spend more and get the best desk rather than take a punt on a cheaper one and have something compromised.

However having looked at the photos in the reviews in Amazon this looks like a clone to my E7, everything bar the control panel looks identical down to the packaging in the box. Though mine didn’t have wheels which I wouldn’t want anyway.

The only difference being the warranty 7 years on the flexispot versus probably 1 via credit card protection on this. Personally I like my desk – there is a little back and forth movement if I really lean on it at full extension (some of that could be the desk top) but it’s a solid beast.

I topped mine with 1.4 x 0.8 Trotten top from IKEA. I liked the idea of getting a solid wood kitchen top, but would have been beyond my budget at the time.

Anyone have this and does it wobble when it’s extended high ?

From what I’ve read in general, all 2 leg tables will wobble when extended. Only way to get a really stable set-up is to get a 4-legged one. Flexispot do one

You can get the whole thing for the same price on Amazon I bought my friend one (edited)

Not sure what you mean. This is on Amazon.

In a bit of a quandary as I could buy a whole desk for £110.

I'm assuming those would only have a single motor, so potentially a shorter lifespan, and the load limit seems to be 80kg or less, whereas this is 100kg.

I guess if I can source a top cheap enough, this is the better long term option, and more flexible too.

What top do you use on these? I’m looking for something ideally 70cm depth. Will it be easy to attach a top that’s not the same brand?

    Yes, any top would work.

Been researching standing desks for a while and this has just made my decision a lot easier. Has everything I was looking for and at the right price. Bought. Cheers!
