As for the most basic model its still very expensive.
Half year old tech as well, non USB-C, comparitively slow charge..

It's actually a year and a half old, the CPU is from the 13 Pro.

Infact if you want to be super picky, it's over 5 years old since it has a 60hz screen.

And yeah, add in lightning port it's it's extremely old technology for almost £800.

Might be a "hot" deal in comparison to other prices for the same product. But it's a bad deal. A very bad deal.

In the interests of a balanced argument though, most hobbyist mechanics would laugh at how much I pay a garage to maintain my car. It's easy for those of us into tech to judge people who spend £800 on a phone that's worth £200 at most.

Pixel 7 Pro is around £550 new on eBay and is better than a 14 Pro Max in every way other than battery life and biometrics.

Deal breaker for me as I wanted 6 of 'em.

Cold, sorry -- you can find this phone regularly for £650 or so brand new and sealed on eBay and even the 14 Plus has been almost £80 cheaper than this (although not in this colour).

But that's ebay for you! Most things can be found cheaper than on the high street
