• The Crown and Cushion is a Grade II-listed 17th-century pub with rooms in the market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland—the building has period features including its slate roof and stone chimney.
• Grade I-listed St Lawrence's Parish Church is directly opposite the hotel, while the 12th-century Appleby Castle is a 5-minute walk away.
• Walkers will be perfectly placed here—you can join three long-distance walking routes in Appleby-in-Westmorland, including the 80-mile-long Dales Way (which runs from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere), the scenic Westmorland Way (which runs from Appleby to Arnside), and Lady Anne's Way (which starts in Skipton and ends in Penrith).
• The property is also in an excellent location for exploring the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales national parks, and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—all of which are less than 30 minutes' drive away.
