No you can use on board Bluetooth if your laptop or PC has it.

Over time though I've become annoyed with the haptics(triggers) and end up turning it off on most games, they are a hindrance more so than a help. The ps5 pad also needs constant recharging. The Xbox pad has its own issues. But I'd take the sturdy build, better grip(for me) and better battery life. Over the ps5 haptics., Which I've only seen done well in insomniac games (r+c and miles Morales) and Astros.

I'm very much in this camp too.

Don't get me wrong, the PS5 controller, for me, is the best controller Sony has ever made. The ergonomics are lightyears ahead of the PS4 controller for me personally and the haptics blow the XSeX controller out of the water.

But as a fairly big 6'4" guy, I still find the PS5 controller absolutely massive! Even despite loving the haptics, I'd still choose the XSeX controller any day because it just feels perfectly comfortable and natural. It might not have the bells and whistles of the PS5 controller, but the refinement MS did between generations has made for an absolutely glorious controller. If they add haptics, I'd say it will be just about perfect.

I have had my wireless controller, for my PC, for a while now....

    45322613-oBNeB.jpg

Can't remember what style it was called when I bought it on a deal. But I do like how it looks. Use it in NMS quite a lot.

What does that added middle button do that you can see in the link from the one advertised here, but missing on mine...?
Is that related to the "share" feature..?

EDIT: Seems that it is a dedicated share button, for sharing screenshots etc whilst playing a game.

    Heat added btw OP (edited)

Having used both controllers, the ps5 is world's better. The vibration alone is far more communicative, and dynamic than the Xbox. Plus the added features such as built in speaker and mic and touchpad make the Xbox pad feel very last gen.Phil Spencer has already conceded that MS will be making changes to their pad after analysing the DualSense, so expect a revised version in the near future.

I believe your controller to be for the Xbox one, whereas the pad in this post is for the series X/S

Received mine today (ordered from the UK store) and it's an attractive controller and the grip is fantastic (has more of a rubbery feel than a standard controller). It's very blue and has a reflective finish... if that's your favourite colour it's worth a buy!

(Ps, it can also look purple in certain light)

Yeah, you are right. I do not have a console and only bought it for my PC with a USB wireless dongle.
The model / style type of mine is called "Recon Tech".
    It works well.

didn't realise that there are differences favouring the newer Xbox.

Odd that Microsoft has only changed the font on the face buttons once ever (gears of war 4 special edition). It must be a pain in the arse to do or something.

Sony never learn about battery life last gen battery life was terrible looks like they carried that over to the current gen.

Did anyone else have problems checking out? I am fairly PC savvy but just couldn't do it, the country default was Switzerland for delivery and I got as far as putting in my credit card details but it would'n't let me add the expiry date so came to a standstill? Thank you!
  38. kidomega's avatar
Anyone getting error emails from MS before being sent out? I've got an email and I can recognise the word problem but nothing else lol as it's in German?/Swiss?

Edit: I think it was to do with my payment card. It's not expired but they didn't like it apparently. I believe I have chosen PayPal instead but can't confirm if it's worked or not (edited)
  39. Jakey's avatar
Yeah, I had to change mine to PayPal also yesterday however there was a pending charge on my card already for the controller. Wasn't sure why they couldn't use the original card, its just been stuck in the pending process for about a week before the email yesterday.
