Recently bought a six month old one, similar new deals were around through brokers when I was shopping. If it matters this will probably be the pre facelift although there are very few changes and I was happy to take the saving. These are vastly underrated cars IMHO, very smooth compared to steel sprung models lower down the range that end up costing at least as much when you compare the specs of the six cylinder engine, Quattro, air suspension, double glazing. They are off the radar of private buyers and don't weigh too much and handle well. Depreciation sting is worst from new list price, bought at discount not too bad. I wanted refinement, ride quality, six cylinder engine, auto, four wheel drive (plus winter tyres for Scottish hills) and for the money I could find no competitor.

Also thinking why would anyone who would be able to afford a car like this bother going on a bargain web site to find deals. This site is becoming more contrived , whats the hot deal tomorrow a Dacia Sandero?

they can afford cars like this. because they *do* visit sites like this

most cars like this will be purchased on finance pcps any how so its a monthly amount needed not the total amount
if you have a company allowance monthly amount then this is a good source of info for a deal.

Audis all look the same and drive the same. This is an Audi A7 interior:

    clearly not the same...

Quality of seats is apparent + 4 spoke vs 3 spoke steering wheel and completely different dash layout on the A8

The A8 has always been overlooked by everyone. Talk to anyone about audi's and they never mention the A8, usually the golf in a fancy suit A3. Lovely cars, not as bling as a 7 series, not as statesman like as an S class, not as americany as a Lexus LS, not as Indian as a Jaguar XJ though to be honest I do always turn my head when I see a new XJ, it is rarer than the rest and quite good looking, Tata have improved Jaguar leaps and bounds, but it is a shame that we couldn't of done that with purely British ownership.

Why? The best car in this class is comfortably the S-Class merc. The real choice is between a 5 or A6, both which you can drive yourself without looking like you "should have" but cannot afford a driver.

Had a brief look on eBay on the 2011 model is advertised around £25k (+/-£2k) which suggests c£12k depreciation over 3 years.
Over 36 months that's £333 pm. I doubt you'd get that on lease deal (incl deposit) so this seems a very good alternative... If you have the capital upfront. Financing the purchase may not make it as sweet a deal

A7 doesn't come with air suspension and adjustable dampers as standard, one I tested rode firmly but didn't handle well enough to be a good compromise. Also prefer the ZF 8 speed to the DSG, suits the car better.

Love to see where you live? I have a family member who lives in Aberdeen has had bmws for 15 years and never used winter tyres. No issues.
I've driven the last 220000 in various bmws and only been off the road for snow for 3 days. You can keep your quattro, poor handling, poor mpg and soo boring to drive.

    What a ridiculous post.

Does Quattro stop better than RWD? Or are you only concerned with traction from a standing start?

Either way, winter tyres are more of a solution to winter driving issues than any 4WD system ever will be.

    Ridiculous comment.
