sorted byShay do you have these yourself?
If so if you stripped away everything other than sound quality for music and comfort in use how would you rate them?
I'd like to be able to use them at home as well as out and about and have read that their noise cancellation isn't the best.
For the sound quality, comfort, ANC and build quality at this price they are LUSH.
However as an xbox gameing headset they have SERIOUS connectivity issues. I use them for PC via the XBOX windows adapter and they are unusable. So I have to use Bluetooth via the TV.
Any thoughts?
My order is in store, to collect by next Tuesday if I'm gonna keep it. Still trying to decide! I think, from what ive read, that if I ignore the Xbox element completely then they are very decent headphones for £120.
Price has dropped, and reputation is bad, because they fail dramatically in their main USP (connecting to xboxes)... but that might also be exactly what makes these a great deal .
Any first hand thoughts at this price point, to help me with my decisions, greatly appreciated!! Thanks (edited)
I’m expiring this deal soon as the price has gone up. Hope you’ll like yours when it arrives!
Really nice headset, comfy and great sound and build quality. Have to admit I do get the odd bit of glitchy sound but that's rare and easily fixed with an off/on.
I've got an series x but rarely use it online, and even more rarely use a headset so i suppose im not desperately bothered about poor mic.
However, i think from what ive read these are excellent build quality and excellent sound quality headphones. The original £450 price, the mic, and the xbox connectivity let it down, but even if you never connect these to an xbox at all (and therefore also never benefit from the Dolby Atmos) it sounds like these would be pretty well rated for a set of comfortable Bluetooth headphones, with quality sound, for £120.
If anyone thinks there are better everyday lifestyle headphones for £120 please shout up, because that's basically what I'm looking to assess. I'd consider the xbox/mic/atmos stuff to be a bonus, even if some of those things are mediocre.
Incidentally - I THINK if ordering these from Game then it might be worth setting up Elite Rewards membership for £3 a month (just for one month) for 10% (£12) back in points. I haven't fully read-up on Game Reward scheme and how the points can be used, but I'm thinking that's worthwhile alongside the £5 voucher for click and collect.
So total outlay £120+£5+£3= £128, but then would have £12+£5=£17 back to spend in store, making the headphones really £111 if you can find something to buy.
As long as you look after them I reckon if you decided to sell you'd get most of your money back, got to be worth £100 in excellent condition surely?
