Decent deal but still a lot for an average phone.

I have one and it's an exceptional phone. The best camera, bar none. If you want the best camera on a phone you can get, this is it.

The only thing I'd say is consider the 256GB version. I found that when capturing 200Mbps video it filled up fast. It's not that much more.

Wait till 1 March - google store uk has a banner saying offers coming . Probably £100 off or something but worth waiting anyway

    and yes 128gb not enough

Agree. Apps have gotten big these days and if you are to use the camera which is the main point of a pixel then you need 256gb. Videos taken up so much space these days and I have had to settle to recording in HD instead of 4k on my pixel 6 as always struggle with remaining storage space

Whilst the Pixel Pro 8 is a great camera phone, the tensor chip isn’t really comparable to the Snapdragon Gen 3 - the full price of nearly a grand is just another example of the upward price drift phone manufacturers have managed to get most consumers to accept- the actual cost of producing the phone is probably about £49

It's the worst-selling pixel in the last 4 generations for a reason, selling so poorly that Google decided to lay off 20% of people responsible for the Google Phone project.

Great phone, amazing camera but very poor battery life and slow charging. Shame Tensor it's a rebranded Exynos

I'd have to disagree here... I've got the Pixel 8 Pro and it's got far better battery life than any other modern phone I've used. Yes it's second to the iPhone 15 Pro, S24 Ultra, and OnePlus 12, but other than those it's definitely up there with the best. For most it should be 1.5 days plus. I can have a heavy day on the phone and still plug it in at night with around 30% charge.

Very cold! For 128gb is a joke... On eBay you can buy for 600pounds brand new and buds for 100 pounds...!

You can try to return buds pro and get pixel 8 pro at £661
    JammyD's avatar
How would they allow you to return the buds on a bundle deal?

I would consider this phone if it drops to around £600ish for the 256gb version

otherwise it’s still the iPhone for me

So you're only £61 and 128gb away from making the switch. (edited)

I have two problems with it,one battery life and two charging speed ,at 30w it's awful,OnePlus 12 is 89 watts and wireless charging 50w.processing speed isn't as good as one plus either. The only thing is camera and ai,the deal is good but these things are making me resist it..............

Maybe go for the pixel 8.. camera wise there isn't £300 in it and you can get a pixel 8 from Three for £517

Regular pixel 8 256gb, got from deal here £489 from EE, best phone I've ever had. Struggling to see any value in pro....very pricey

    Decent deal, heat added OP

Any predictions for Pixel Fold 1st gen price brand new once Pixel Fold 2 is released (if those rumours are true)?

I bought brand new pixel 8 pro 256gb for 649pounds.

    Of course you did

Good deal, but I might keep looking for the S23 Ultra.

Until they use TSMC and Qualcomm modems or make their own, forget it. Can’t always guarantee their features will make it here either from the USA.

I'm between this phone and iPhone 14 pro? Any advice?
Also, I'm still using p30 pro.
    Deal_searcher's avatar
Personally if it was me I would buy the iPhone 14 pro. Don't get me wrong the pixel 8 pro is a great phone but I don't think the value is there at this price. You can get most of the features apart from the telephoto camera with the pixel 8. Plus if you are planning to get a smartwatch, nothing out there beats the apple watch at this moment in my opinion

    In a pickle here folks;

I had pixel 2 for a long time, it was great with incredible camera, still is just battery doesn't even go half a day now and is becoming increasingly flaky / prone to disconnecting WiFi & restarting randomly.

I got the s21 FE in that Currys deal with earbuds fe by trading in an old broken phone to get the 100 pound bonus so felt like a bit of a deal, but whilst the fe is nice, very impressive screen etc, it's camera is mad, I mean it has a hallucinogenic kind of feel to every image, I can't get used to how over the top every colour is compared to my pixel 2, and the fe's telephoto, whilst nice, is only really usable at 3x, anything over gets incredibly grainy and noisy, so feels like don't gain much as p2 could go to 3x digital no probs anyway.

My question is, presuming I can offload the s21 FE and recoup most of money on it, hopefully, would this pixel 8 pro be worth a punt? £800 feels like a lot for a phone, and I don't particularly care for all these new ai features, just want good camera with natural colours and reliable battery, os really, or just stick with s21 FE and keep p2 around for photos as do now? Feels cumbersome though. Is the 8 pro with crazy colours on camera? Is the ai stuff really overbearing and annoying? Seems like amount of money Google makes off users data they should be giving these things away.

I would just buy a cheaper pixel. The pixel 8 pro is not worth the £800 in my opinion when you can get the pixel 8 which has most of the features. If you really need that telephoto get the pixel 7 pro which should be cheaper
  18. missnetto's avatar
Not worth 800 for 128gb. I would be expecting 512gb to 1tb at this price
    JA2018's avatar
Same. Don't get why 128 is sold for these more premium phones 🫤
