sorted byAgree entirely, one kitchen gadget that we use many times a week: turns unappealing left over slices of bread into delicious toasties. This listing is for the smaller one, for a family of four the bigger vst026 is the one to look out for.
Not to cause debate but a toastie this does not produce. This makes squashed sandwiches. A toastie has sealed edges.
Ok I did make this point to cause debate
The grill lines on the panini's is especially misleading! (edited)
I would say the good points are you can get pretty much any size slices of bread in it as the base is big and the lid pivots down so it’s always flat on top of the bread. Makes two nice toasties and the bread always comes out like a professional cafe product! Nice part is it’s easy to clean.
As I hadn't tried collecting from an Amazon Pickup Location before, I combined it with the code 7OFFPICKUP from here

For an even nicer price of £16.99
Have to agree, these are brilliant. Easy to clean, take any size bread, heat up super fast and make shop like toasters.
Grabbed the 026 when Lidl were doing the £10 off £40 vouchers, was so good grabbed my parents one aswell.
Only real negative is it’s a bit cumbersome to store.
Have a similar one and put paninis between grease proof paper to reduce overspill
I've had the larger version for years. These things aren't exactly complex but it does what it is meant to do (edited)
Been using this daily for many years, reliable and easy to clean
We did have the version with the ceramic coating and variable temperature, was good but only bought it as it was reduced to £17 at Costco, never seen them there since, it just stopped heating one day, again after a lot of use.
And chicken breasts, whole or butterflied. (edited)
I wouldn’t, might cause a fire as there is nowhere for the hot fat to drain. You need an air fryer, they are awesome and not what you think as I believe air fryer term is misleading, they should be called air cookers. In fact just used our air fryer to cook some burgers.
What ? That’s not correct, a toastie or toasted sandwich doesn’t have to have sealed edges. Anyway those ones with sealed edges are dreadful squashed sandwiches.
This doesn’t make squashed sandwiches, makes lovely ones, if yours are squashed then you are doing it wrong eg pushing down hard on the sandwich lol (edited)
I just rest the lid on the sandwich but it doesn't squash it at all, and I also found there was no need for sealed edges as the filling stays in. A sealed edge toastie maker crushes the bread within an inch of its life and leaves two small pockets of filling with a thick rock hard crust around the edge, the bread also never fits and my last one the handle snapped off when trying to lock the mechanism with sliced bread the size that it is. (edited)
I've ordered based on the comments here - if it is crap - I'll be back!!!!!!
I think a toasty is any toasted sandwich and sealed edges are optional. But I agree about the lines on the paninis, you only get those if you buy the ones with the lines already on them.
I do sir. I do.
No no no no no!
Return and re-order for pick up?
If you're lucky you may get a returns drop off location that's the same as / close to the pickup location, then you can do it all in one journey.
No,no,no,no,no,no! A toastie is a filled sandwich. How do you fill something that is open at the sides?
A George Foreman grill or stove top grill pan would be more suitable for that.
