I would highly recommend the book 'Midnight in Chernobyl' by Adam Higginbotham. It's a brilliant read and gives a comprehensive, thriller like account of the disaster from the initial conception of the plant and town through the opening of the new sarcophagus.

Having read it I had a very different view of the TV series, which pushes 'creative license' to the max. You wonder if the TV show should be classed as pure fiction.

Watched it all about 6 times now. Never fails to amaze me how well it's made and the acting is top notch too.

    RIP Paul Ritter.

Amazing price for an amazing series. I had to import a copy from the 'states and paid about £17/18. Great spot OP!

Is this the Sky series? For me it's a joke as all locals and Russian scientists had Scottish, Irish and Scouse accents 😳 🙈🙈🙈

I watched 13 Days the old Kevin Costner Movie about the Cuban Missile Crisis the other day, stands up really well and makes a good "sequel" of sorts to Oppenhemier....and it's "free" on Amazon Prime.

I’ve only ever ordered from Amazon U.K./EU before. Do I have to jump through any hoops to buy from Amazon France. The link opens the app asks me if I want to change country? Better in a browser?
    Stephen_Ensell's avatar
No, really easy, I've used Amazon France and Amazon Italy a lot.
