At the end of the day I would say it's impossible to write a book on this, simply because of the wide scope of research, it will be a totally different experience if your slave labour in a science department lab, performing historic research, or practicing pseudo science in social sciences...
But I've grabbed it anyway and sent the link to the PhD I'm currently mentoring, just for laughs (edited)
