Really good switch. Full speed on all ports on my network no issue.
I even ran it via USB power for ages with an adapter, no issue

Brilliant thanks, never would have noticed the socket is 5v

Think you're better off with CAT6 that is rated for external use. Probably only need 50m max

Thanks, appreciate this should be directed to my ISP but I already have a cable running downstairs for my Virgin box.

It looks like the same cable/interface but its not ethernet port (more Coxial?) Basically goes into my Modem and Virgin box.

Is it possible just to add a splitter/2nd modem to this and have direct internet in both?

Speeds so fast they come out the back of the switch

<1W per port, which is way better than the 4W per port of my current switch (edited)

    From review

“Most switches for some weird reason they have the power and data cables on different sides, this one has everything on the same side which I find tidier.
I also used a usb cable that had the same barrel connector as the provided power adapter, and worked like a charm, as it uses 5v and 0.6 amps”

Are the newer ones faster? Mine is a few years old now.

    I have Virgin 1GB upstairs.
Can I use Powerline Adapters (Plug into Power Socket upstairs to Powerline Adapters plug downstairs) -> Feed this into the TP-LINK LS1005G - 5 sport switch and then have ethernet connection to TV/Xbox//Shield etc?

    Thanks
Edit I have PC upstairs which is why modem is located here. (edited)

I theory yes as long as the Powerline adapter is on the same power loop. However as far as I remember it's not the best option. Why not run some CAT6 from up to down, which is better.
