sorted byUse it for backing up files from my PC and storing movies/tv shows that I want to watch on the media player in my living room.
Handy if you are backing up to external drives as part of your data back up.
you can use the Synology DS USB copy program. Simply drop the hard drive in this and the program will detect the drive, copy the task data you have assigned to that drive, and eject the drive when done.
Had a Fideco for a good few years and always works without issue. Shame this one does not have the additional USB slots at the front so you can daisy chain drives or the SD card mounts. Still a good buy though. Heat (edited)
As noted above, you can clone drives without a PC, although I’ve not tested this.
I use this the same way - to back up - using software to syncronize data from other drives
I cant remember what was on the drives. Hopefully nothing valuable, but as they were a backup drive I can always replace the data that was lost. (edited)
