I was expecting something a bit better for Prime Day but I might still bite at this price since it's still good value. I need to replace an original one that has stopped working recently.

I can deal with it being a bit slower than the 4K Max versions and it doesn't seem worthwhile going for the "Lite" versions. Not sure if the £20 Roku is better value though.

Edited to add: I looked at my Amazon history and apparently I bought a 4K Fire Stick for £23 in July last year. Prices have gone up over the last year but that's a LOT. (edited)

Funny you should say that, I have had two fire sticks suddenly stop working right after they ran out of warranty??

I feel Roku and Apple tv 4K is much better than Amazon firetv unless you want app side loading.

Apple TV 4K apps are years behind in updates. Netflix is bare bones, BBC iplayer doesn't support profiles, and it doesn't even have subtitles. The list goes on.

Something I have been wondering why people buy this Amazon stick? if your TV is old and doesn't have smart functions then you would buy this Amazon stick? The latest TV's wouldnt' benifit from one of these Amazon sticks ?

They do have A benefit . Of your Samsung TV is running Tizen OS does not have all the apps people would like and can't sideload APKS on it. So Firestick is A good way to get apps you maybe missing.

The earlier ones were plagued with a 60Hz refresh rate incompatible with the 50Hz UK TVs, have these now been made for the UK market at 50Hz or still US 60Hz ?
