any cheap hotels?
It can be bitterly cold in Istanbul in the winter.
I went to Istanbul once and had to buy a thick coat hat gloves and scarf to try and keep warm.
It was also full of street beggars.
On the plus side the history and architecture are very interesting.
nice find. thanks op

You can expect a daytime high range from 22 – 26°C in September.

Istanbul was fantastic in the poast when i have been and September/October would be the perfect time to go. As for beggars well i am sure you are correct but i always remember places like Konya having a lot more then Istanbul...
thanks

Sept/October are great months to go, As for beggars well i seem to remember places like Konya having a lot more.
Booked a couple of flights when they were advertised earlier. Hotels in Istanbul weren't as cheap as I thought they might be.

Sorry I didn't wish to put a downer on the deal as the flight price is very good.
I only speak from my own personal experience.
I went in January and for the 4 days I was there it was a constant 2C with a drizzly northerly wind that got into your bones.
It was 15 years ago when I went ..maybe the beggar problem that I encountered is not as bad now. Good luck to anyone who goes.

What??? Good find, do you have any link? Which date???

beggars are everywhere. visit Edinburgh - Princess street, measure the number of beggars per m2. I am sure that it will be more than the average in Istanbul.

for domestic flights look either Skyscanner or domestic airlines such as THY, AnadoluJet, Flypgs, AtlasJet and SunExpress.

good prices ,a bus from Sabiha to Taksim costs 12TL(£5 each way),weather last year in Sept/October was fine, warm, dry average temp 26C,taxis inexpensive, public transport flat rate 2TL(75p) however many stops in one direction, obvious tourist sites are in easy walking distance around the Sultanhamet area where there are countless hotels/eating places.I live in Istanbul and find it a great city,a few beggars, but what city doesnt have them, perhaps less obvious are those who at least try to sell you something like a pack of paper tissues for a Lira or so or the street traders selling designer goods for very little money ie a Lacoste badged jumper for 10 TL(£4) bargains everywhere,so please come and enjoy a wonderful place
Unfortunately, site at work wont load up so will have to wait till I get home. Hopefully, dates will available.....
Great price with an airline which has gorgous stewardess.
Been Istanbul 5 times now , nvr get bored of the city.
In September weathr is still over 83F...
Oh how kook is tht my friend wrks 4 TA , so looks lije half price for me.
Hot frm me...
Voted Hot!! Just a tad risky though as it is known that Istanbul is notorius for Albanian Hitmen who may want to seek revenge on you and your family

True, but what a great way to visit Asia & Europe in the same day & the view as you go over the Bosphorus is breathtaking
