EE are doing 100GB data per month free for 2 months when you top up £10 on their new Christmas free SIM deal. May help someone out.

New SIM needs to have been ordered by 29th December.

Go here, shop.ee.co.uk/cam…-ee if you want your own.

There is an AWFUL lot of contradiction on here but let me put this to rest once and for all.

The easiest way to get your 100GB AND keep your £10 credit is as follows:

1. Receive SIM

2. Put SIM in phone. Any phone. Dumb phone, smart phone. It doesn't matter. No need to turn data off

3. Text 'STOP PACK' to 150 (this merely stops the £10 1GB/50 mins/50 texts add-on from starting. This is the ONLY thing STOP PACK does. It does NOT stop the 100GB add-on from being applied)

4. Buy a £10 top up in a shop using the E Top Up card supplied. (It's much easier to top up this way due to problems with the EE top up website)

5. Text 'CHRISTMAS100' to 150

6. Voilà. You now have your 100GB free each month, for two months - and your £10 credit to spend on anything you want.

Thanks to preecey
- Apogee00

To check if an existing SIM from previous promotions is eligible for the offer, or if you want to ensure the promotion is active on the SIM without losing any money in the process, text CHRISTMAS100 to 150 BEFORE you top up. If the text back asks you to top up before they add the free data, the promotion is live on the SIM. If the text back states something along the lines of 'sorry you're not eligible', do NOT top up as you won't get the free data.
- preecey

If you don't want to start using the data straight away make sure at step 2 above that Data is TURNED OFF.
- kar999

Between steps 3 & 4 above reply YES to 150 to confirm you want to stop the pack. (You don't get a further text back. )

Some info on this from last time:
    - Yes it's 100gb not 100mb. Activated after top up by texting CHRISTMAS100 to 150.
    - You get 100gb for the first month. Then it automatically gives you 100gb for a second month. Then it becomes a normal sim.
    - If you text STOP PACK to 150 after topping up but BEFORE using data (switch data off on your phone, the text will still go ok) it won't use your £10 before giving you the 100gb. So you can use the 2x100gb and still have £10 credit to activate afterwards whenever you wish.
    - It can be used in mifis, and EE don't ban tethering.
    - If you have a sim from the last 100gb promo(s), it will activate this offer if you top up by £5 then text CHRISTMAS100 to 150 EDIT: PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THAT EE DO NOT NOW ALLOW THIS. Further edit: Topping up by £10 and texting CHRISTMAS100 DID work on 6th Nov.
    - You can save it for future use - just do the stop pack thing and then don't use any data. I'm still using one now and it'll run to mid-December. Need to text once every six months to stop the sim being disabled. Your credit can be used for this without activating a pack.
    - If you top up old sims, the 100gb starts immediately - haven't found a way to delay for future use.

Piggy999 - can you please share your timing strategy for getting 10 … Piggy999 - can you please share your timing strategy for getting 10 months usage out of these sims?

To get 10 months you will need 5 sims
Let's say you start on November 1st.

Sims 1,2,3 you activate on Nov 1st. That means " stop pack, top up £10, text christmas100". You must use a dumb phone.
Sim 1 data us for Nov and Dec
Sim 2 data is for Jan and Feb
Sim 3 data is for march and april

Sims 4 and 5 you activate on December 29. Again, you must use a dumb phone.

Sim 4 data is for may and June
Sim 5 will expire at end of June due to the six-month-rule. Therefore you must make a call or text from this sim, towards the end of June, to keep the sim alive. This will be paid for from the £10 PAYG credit you have on the sim, after you did the STOP PACK when activating. Texrts are 12p, calls are 30p. This call or text will keep the sim alive for a further six months, and will have the effect of triggering the data.
So sim 5 data is for July and (nearly all of) August.

So using the 5 sims you will have data from Nov 1st all the way to the end of August (nearly)

FarleypocIrrespective of what you were told, text CHRISTMAS100 to 150, if … FarleypocIrrespective of what you were told, text CHRISTMAS100 to 150, if the response is something like you need to top-up to receive this offer, it should work, if response is this is not available then you don't qualify.

My recent experience contradicts even that advice.
I had a summer sim (used already) which I wanted to use for the Xmas promotion.
I texted christmas100 to 150. The response was "not available to you".
I decided to risk it, topped up £10, again texted christmas100, and I got the 200GB data.
However, the data started immediately, I was not able to delay it even though I used a dumb phone.
So ..... it looks like you can ignore the " not available to you" stuff, as long as you top up £10 first you should get the data, which will start immdiately.
This will also work for getting a second lot of 200GB with a Christmas sim.
But ... the christmas100 "text window" is about to be closed by EE any day now, it is advisable to do a test text if christmas100 anyway before you top up.
If the response is"not available to you" then you can ignore that and top up and get the data.
If the response says something like the offer has closed, then do not top up as no one can now get the data
    Hope all that makes sense.

This is what I did and it worked on my summer sim

    Top it up with £5.
    Text CHRISTMAS100 to 150

    (receive confirmation of 200gb)

    Text STOP PACK to 150

Now you have as per some posters here, 200gig and the original £5 to spend after the promo ends..
  9. gsend23gl's avatar
This is an outstanding deal and thanks to OP for posting it.

It is worth taking at least three sims to give you 6 months coverage.

To summarise the process (and piggy999, please correct me if I am wrong):

1 - Insert each sim into a dumb phone within 14 days of receiving it
2 - add £10 credit (you can do this by buying a £10 top up voucher for cash from a shop) to each sim you have received.
3 - Once £10 credit is on the sim, text CHRISTMAS100 to 150 on each sim you have received.
4 - You will receive an auto text confirming 200GB has been added to each sim.
5 - Text STOP PACK to 150. This will keep the £10 as credit on the SIM for use AFTER the 200GB data has been consumed (the £10 credit can be used for either calls or additional data).
6 - Take each sim out of the dumb phone and store till you need to activate the data.
7 - When ready to use a sim, insert it into a mifi unit or a smartphone with data enabled and enjoy 100GB for 2 months. (NB: The data should be activated within 6 months of step 5.)
8 - At the end of the 2 months / 200GB, you still have £10 credit which can be used to buy additional data or for calls.

If I have missed anything in my process to optimise the value of this deal, please correct me by reply post.

    Thanks and enjoy!

Good to see the moderators are on top of things. My gratitiude to them!

    Just a quick update:

Got both of my SIMs prepped for a top up.
SIMs arrive roughly a week ago.
Put each SIM into my smartphone (as suggested I didn't need to turn of mobile data as there is really no need at this point) and left for about 5 minutes until I got the introductory/welcome texts.
Text "BA" to see the current status - showed £0 and "Data Pack" ready to go.
Text "CHRISTMAS100" to check that I can get the promotion - All good, stated I have to top up £10 first.
Text "STOP PACK" and then confirmed by texting "YES".
Text "BA" to check current status - showed £0 and suggesting the option of getting a better deal using a pack, etc.
Text "CHRISTMAS100" to double check I can still get the promotion - Still good, I have to top up £10 first.

I intend to use the included Top Up card to credit each SIM with £10, ensuring mobile data is turned off with each SIM inserted and then texting "CHRISTMAS100" and waiting for confirmation of the promotion being applied.

SIMs will then be stored safely until required

I hope this further helps those in need of this info and many thanks to all who posted details of their own experiences.
I will report back if there are any issues that others may need to be aware of, but looks like easy sailing from this moment.

Possibly. I added £5 to a previous promo sim last time, and it worked. I still had the original £10 top up on it, so I now have £15 credit and did get the 200gb add-on.

As someone mentioned above, we need someone to risk the £5 to find out if it works this time!

I think EE should make this a permanent 100GB a month deal.

I'm very green at this kind of thing, any help appreciated, thanks.

When you get the sim ......

1 - go to newsagent, supermarket etc and buy £10 EE top up voucher, you can use cash
2 - putr the sim in a dumb-phone, ie one that can NOT connect to the internet, or if you have a smart phone then make sure the data is switched OFF
3 - ring 150 and select the option to add a top up voucher to the sim
4 - put in the voucher number and the sim will have £10 added to it
    5 - text CHRISTMAS100 to 150
6 - you will receive a text back saying the 200gb has been added to your sim
7 - take sim out and do not use it.
8 - when yoiur 20gb sim runs out in your Osprey, put in the Christmas sim and your 200gb allowance will start there and then. So you can save it for weeks or months, up to a six month limit before starting the data.

3 - Top up the SIM with £10
    4 - Send STOP PACK to 150
    5 - Send CHRISTMAS100 to 150

It may have just been a backend problem that is now fixed, but it may highlight any problem SIMs and the dispatch times of them. Either way it will assist others in the best methods of making the most out of this promotion. As in being able to transfer the credit to another EE SIM? That will require contacting EE but there is no guarantee that they will transfer it for you. It also won't go towards enabling the christmas promotion.I'm curious, what methods have people been using to top up? Using the card that comes with the SIM? Buying a voucher from a store? Using a debit card and topping up via the app, text or website? And do you use the EE app in the same phone for multiple SIMs?

    Hi Piggy.
The way I did it I'm sure wasn't the most wise, however:
    1. Took the old sim from summer and put it into my Mifi.
    2. On my iPad connect to the wifi and start a browser: cue instant 'you're out of credit!!' redirection to a top up page.
    3. Topped up £10 (actually £10.50...I didn't want something using up 10p messing up my £10 meaning I had to top up a further £10). Used a credit card...now feel a fool, Feds will know everything about me.
    4. Put sim in my iPhone.
    5. Instantly got a text saying "your £10 data pack has renewed for a month"
    6. Text 'Stop Pack': got a message saying it'll not autorenew at the end of the month
    7. Text 'christmas100' and got the message confirming the 200gb.
    8. Put sim back in Mifi. Happy days.

So I think it's cost me £20...which is fine by me. And I might have £10 credit.
No idea if I can do anything fancy with that....will try to find out.

    2. Logged onto EE website on PC, topped up £10 online via debit card
    3. Text arrived on Nokia saying you have topped up credit
    4. Texted STOP PACK to 150
    5. Received text saying reply to 150 with YES to confirm you want to stop pack, i replied YES to 150
    6. Got a text saying it will not auto renew

    8. Put sim back in Mifi device

There is no individual 14 day activation limit on each sim card.
The 14 days referred to by EE is just a way for them to end the text message being accepted 14 days after the final sims are posted out.
So ALL sims will be fine to use the christmas100 text right up until 12 January.
It does not matter when you received your sim.
